Outside and in the shop today getting more completed.Polished the right side exhaust to a mirror shine, and installed my fire insurance package...the one that's a guarantee....unlike insurance coverage at your local autoplan office.

Very concerned about the cinder blocks... they can quite easily crumble which could seriously harm, maim or even kill you if you were under the truck when they gave out. If they were to give out when you weren't under the truck, there could be considerable damge to it. Jack stands buddy, like the fire extinguisher... insurance that actually works.

CliCluster looks great, getting closer and closer

I'm with CRGRS 66 on this 100%. You know what could happen so I'm not going to preach. I just don't understand why you'd take a risk. There's other options to use other than "china" stuff out there too.

Be safe out there ladies and gentleman. Life can be changed (not only for you, but your loved ones too) in a fraction of a second!

Loving this build and scanning back some pages. Good to see it's getting paint and rolling around now!

That said, get some jack stands man. Why bet your life on cinder blocks? They just don't really have the support capacity of stands, even cheap ones. They have no reinforcement internally. Hell, people can punch through them.

All that money in the truck, shell out for some quality stands and live a little longer . Your jack is made in Taiwan I believe, so not everything from overseas is bad!

Cheers buddy.

Re: Project truck dream 65"

Dash all together now.I spent alot of time and effort rebuilding the unit, considering its the main center piece i didnt mind taking the time to do it my way and right.

Just want to say thanks to Jason Wilson at Greenback Decals for the refacing of my gauges and building the tach. This is gonna look great !

Re: Project truck dream 65"

Got the day off work yesterday, so I spent some time In the shop cleaning up the fuel tank area, reworked the mounts and built some stainless straps to hold it in place.

Spent an hour or so polishing them up to a mirror finish...looking cool

Re: Project truck dream 65"

Worked up a bit of a sweat Wed night...,I decided to make my own exhaust hangers after finding out what it would cost to have them cut on a water jet.

Anyway they look cool cant wait to polish them.6061 aluminum drilled then cut with a zip cutter and hacksaw.......

Re: Project truck dream 65"

thats some handy and ingenious work! no one would know by looking at it that it was handmade.

this is one of the best ideas I have seen in this thread too:

is it just an angle grinder with the guard removed and a polishing wheel chucked up in it? I have a 6" metabo and it never occured to me to use it like this, but that would be brilliant, my wheels need polished. is it that simple?

Picture #1 the Bedwood sample.....7 coats of clear over white oak and looking fantastic...so now the Bedwood is getting the icing!

Darren let me get a few seconds in on the gun..haven't picked up one in 20 plus years !

Burned through 1 gallon of clear already...2 coats on the underside 3 on top.One more gallon to go (I hope) clear is dam expensive these days at $350.00 a gallon
