Re: What did you do to your truck today part IV

Had a chance to pull the sender out of my tank today. I knew the truck had been sitting a while but I had hoped the tank might still be usable. After seeing what the inside looked like I pulled the tank out. I took it to a local shop only to find out they want $100 just to tell me IF it was salvageable. Going to check out what the hot rod hoarder at work has tomorrow and hopefully he will have a fuel tank that will fit between the rails under the bed.

Well after almost a year and many setbacks I finished the brake upgrade. Went from Manual Drums to power assisted Disc Brakes on all four corners. I also replaced all of the brake lines.

Friend of mine painted signage on the truck today. Original owners son said I could use their name, it was on their dairy since new.

Put the front of the engine back together: new belts, pulleys, PS pump, fan shroud.

I built a bracket to lock my hood. It’s not foolproof but no one will expect it.

Today I'm finally going to wash mine. It's been sitting for a few weeks because work has been running me like crazy.

Took off one of the rad/grille top pieces so I could take out the bird's nest behind the driver's headlight.

Re: What did you do to your truck today part IV

Added a coolant recovery jug/windshield washer unit ( you sharp eyes will note that it came from a f**d), relocated the horns behind the grill and out of the engine bay. Searched a pile of tanks at the wreckers, couldn't locate one that "fit" the wheel well.

After 3 years of ownership, I finally gave Frankentruck a bath. At some point I need to completely scrub the truck in some sort of cleaner, because the car soap and sponge was not extremely effective

I'm about to do something similar to this; any tips?

Where did you make the cuts to remove the old and put the new?

Thanks!
