Re: How about some pics of 88-98 Trucks

Here are a couple of mine. Popped the grille out, unbolted the complete headlamp assemblies and switched them out for the 88 units. The only wiring mod was to one male pin on each side. I used a pair of needle nose pliers to twist it so it plugged right in. No cutting necessary at all.
Once you take the grille assembly off you will see how the headlamp area is cut out already to fit around the sealed beams too. No more dull dim plastic headlamp lenses to worry with trying to polish up again.

Re: How about some pics of 88-98 Trucks

I like that 88, 88. How's the ride with those 2500 springs. Thinking about a lift in the future and found a 2500 Burb as a doner (axle's).

'Bout a 3" body lift, tires are 33x12.5-15's on 15x10 wheels. Oh yeah, new power steering pump too.

Re: How about some pics of 88-98 Trucks

The 88 I just picked up. Tons of miles but runs like a top and pretty clean too! Need suggestions on how to flatten it out a little without losing too much ride quality.

First thing, I would figure out how it was lifted. That rear is way above stock, you are welcome to send me pictures of the rear suspension and I will figure it out for you.

Next, order some beltech drop shackles. It will not effect the ride quality at all, and it will lower it done level. They are easy to install with simple hand tools and a couple jack stands and a floor jack.

Re: How about some pics of 88-98 Trucks

^ I'm not sure if it's lifted or not...it could be stock, and just look really high in the back because of the big tires. Got any other pics, with it sitting on level ground?

Anyway, shackles are definitely the way to go. That's how my truck is leveled out.

that looks stock in the rear! i had a 90 sport was that high too!! i did a 2/4 drop on mine. i used the drop shackles and front hangers. i would try that on yours. if you just got shackle i dont think you will get it as low as you want it.

Yeah I apologize about that, makes for detailed photos however, I see that it cut off my pictures onto 2 separate pages, check out page 32 if you haven't already to see my truck.

It definitely appears lifted. The tires appear a little over size, but they all appear to match.
