My original intentions were to notch the frame and lift the bed 5-7 inches but realized only had to lift the bed 2-3 inches. No mods were made to the frame. Installed a RideTech parallel 4-link, tubbed the inner fenders and widened the rear exterior fenders by 2" to accomodate the 22x12. In hindsight, the tubs weren't really necessary. There would have been ample clearance for the air bags to travel. Try this link: http://www.my57chevytruck.com/?p=148

I'll try to dig up some more pics and post later.
My wife is really tired of me trying to decide which direction to go. I finally decided to go the Porterbuilt route and either tub across the dropmember or build a 2 level floor which would rise for the dropmember and continue the raised bed to the tailgate. That would give me room to stash the air management system and batteries. I plan on some rake, but not as much as yours. Potholes and speed bumps would eat the front bumper.

I like the bucket seats in the cab. I'm a foot taller than my wife so a bench seat won't work if I want to keep my knees. I've been looking at buckets and split benches. Buckets would give me all the transmission space I need for a LS motor and 4L80.

Yours turned out great. Love the exhaust out of the front fenders.

It was fog. Never seen it that thick in phoenix.

I will get some more pictures of the truck at the LST show. It will be a little more complete at least from the exterior.

Some pictures of the interior would be nice. Who did the motor in Phoenix? I'm looking for someone to Hone and assemble my LS motor.

Not much in the interior right now. Just the trans tunnel. Going to the interior shop in the next couple months though. Just waiting on the word that the guy is ready.

The engine is a straight takeout. All I did was take it apart to paint it. That said, Diego at Desert Auto Works in Mesa, Az is my engine guy. He runs a repair shop but does engine swaps and LS builds also. He has 2 shop trucks, one is a beat up early 90s Chevy with a twin turbo LS and the other is an S10 also with an LS. I don't know which machine shop he uses, but he can do what you need.

I'm having a new 5.3L resleeved with new thicker Darton sleeves bored to 427ci. It's going to need to be finish and alignment honed. Heads will be assembled and ready to bolt on. I'd live to find a shop or person that would let me hang out and watch the build.

Was it this past fall? We had a few days in Flagstaff with dense fog advisories. Reminded me of Chicago that we left last May.

Re: How about some pics of bagged 47-59

Here is my '57. It sits like this with a Jag XJ6 front crossmember and SS6 bags and out back is a torque arm setup from a 4th gen Camaro and 2500 bags. The rear has a very mild 2" c-notch. I did not want to raise the bed floor at all, because I race motorcycles and will use this to haul them and my gear. I succeeded in getting it this low without raising the bed floor.

I will be building a new frame out of 2x4 .190" tubing that will have the Jag IFS as well as a Jag IRS out back. That setup should allow me to lay the body down because the smaller frame will essentially be a 2" body drop and the IRS will allow the wheels to come up higher than the center section, allowing for a stock bed floor.

Thank you. I have a solid 2-3 months worth of work to get it on the street, but I can't start on it again until July or so. I am mega determined to be driving her by the end of fall through! But sadly, the 5.3 lives on an engine cradle in the garage. I have a decent 355 in her now for simplicity's sake. The 5.3 will go into the new tube chassis that I build, because I'm going to build the front of that chassis to accommodate the twin turbo setup that will go on the 5.3

Couple updated shots from Lone Star Throwdown this weekend. Got the bumper put on and the bed floor in it. Although you can't see the bed floor in the pictures.

When you guys are running low or aired out, how much can you turn the wheels? Or are you pretty much only able to go straight ahead? Thanks

It all depends on how you setup the suspension. Mine is setup where I can drive around town with a little under half of my tire tucked in the fender. If I am on the freeway and only having to switch lanes or take ramps I can be just off the ground.

At first we had the suspension setup where I had almost lock to lock turning while laid out. It looked goofy with the front wheelbase so narrow compared to the back though so we moved the wheels out some.

"BIGglaSS", I can go stop to stop without rubbing with 6" wheels and 70 series tires. It's all about the offset. With the correct offset you can do amazing things with the steering.
