I got mine from Summit
The two black ones are: #644123 -6AN 3/8 and #644133 -6AN 5/16

The silver one is: #640940 -6AN 3/8

I have thought about it slightly.
I don't like the angle cuts on the front fenders and sliding the whole front end forward to eliminate that causes a slight problem.
I guess I could utilize the hydraulics for it though.
Years ago I saw a early 50s chevy wagon that was done that way and it worked pretty good but there was a lot of engineering in it.

Kim: Your fab skills are second to none. I saw that you've used weld on nuts and it gave me an idea on how to improve my upper control arm mounting. I just ordered a couple of packs from motorsportsunlimited312. Your truck is lookin' good. Any updates to show us?

No real updates. Still cleaning up some unneeded holes in the frame so I can send it out to get blasted and then painted.
With my son out of school for the summer it gets harder to spend all day in the garage.

Our son is 11 years old. We adopted him when he was 6 after being his legal guardians from about the age of 1.
I would love a lift. Unfortunately my garage has bedrooms above it so it isn't high enough.

What a great age for your son! A lot going on at that age! Is he interested in your workings in the garage? Does he like tinkering?

As for lifts~ I was fortunate when I bought my lift~ it was 1800, now they've gone up a bit, but when I spend thousands here and thousands there on my projects, the cost for my little lift doesn's sound so bad. My garage ceiling is 7'11". Of course my Apache can't go very high. I guess my body just doesn't do well with a car only off the floor 15"s or so. I didn't have my lift until AFTER I was finished with my stang! lol I thought I was finished with car restorations! But I keep having to put the stang on the lift for odds n end servicing.

He's into Legos and playing the guitar and base. He takes lessons twice a week and is in a band with other kids his age. He also swims on a private team for his heart. He was a premee and had to have surgery at a week old to fix a coarctation of the aorta. I have two older sons who never really got into hot rods either. One is an excellent tattoo artist and the other is just a normal person.

I pretty much just wing as I go along. I will make cardboard templates for some things but generally just do a lot of measuring and drawing on the metal that I need to cut.

Ok, Kim. Your son is back in school, so where are the updates? Tough getting out there sometimes, isn't it. My driver is in the bodyshop so it's holding me up on purchasing sheet metal. That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it.

Now that I'm close to painting it I'm having trouble deciding on a color.
Decisions decisions.

I've called a few sand blasters in my area and it seems like it's going to be around $200 for my bare frame and rear end housing.
I was hoping to pay less than that but I may just have to bite the bullet and get it done.

In my city the blasters want 400.00 to blast two fenders and two bed sides. I dont think so.How ever I did find a large powerdcoat and blast frame for 500 to 600.00.Kim your project is going along well.good luck with the blasters.

I bought my own ten gal. about five years ago and put a big hd deadman on it. The blasters works great and I use it more than I expected I would. I'm running it off the 120 gal compressor in my garage. Most often use glass bead. Makes a mess, but I bought a couple of 12X36 tarps that I hang when I use it in the garage. I will use it on my frame when the time comes.

out here its about 500 to get frame blasted and powder coated - i did my frame in black -it looks good and am happy with it - good luck with yours
