Re: '66 Sunbeam Minx Project - F20C/6sp/4-link/Discs...

Kitchen is done! No pics as of this moment. Also had a big family gathering at my place for a 3 day weekend. Then went to Crater Lake a for four days. Can't get enough of that place. Swam in the lake this time. Did a little cliff diving too. Needless to say it's been a busy month and not very conducive to Minx2000ification...

But I worked on it today (brace for actual progress update):

Finally got the lower shock mount fully welded:

Powdercoated:

Reassembled:

Reconfig'ed the arm jigs for the opposite side. Then I bent up the tube for the PS upper:

And started mock up ...will be faster this time with the jigs already built and the opposites to match to. That and no kitchen remodel...

Great work. those parts look better than some of the production aftermarket parts I've seen

Hope the kitchen isn't too nice or the wife might need other rooms done to match. Thats my battle now after the bathroom remodel.

Thanks guys, it's good to be back on it. As for the house, the kitchen project already included repainting several other rooms Hopefully that fulfills my quota for a while...

You are a master fabricator! This is my favorite thread to follow on the internet PERIOD. I can't wait to see what you'll post next. I just wish I was half as good with metal as you are. Then I wouldn't be scared to do anything I want to my truck. Thanks for sharing man!

Did I see a little shot of your engine bay in a car mag here in the UK (Practical Performance Car)? It was on the "whats in Octobers issue" in an article about fitting S2000 engines into other cars. Is this something you're aware of or a random shot they've picked up off the web?

They contacted me a few months ago and I sent them some hi-res shots they were interested in. Beyond that I honestly have no idea what they are cooking up. I'll be buying a few of the issues tho! Barnes and Noble carries it.

Re: '66 Sunbeam Minx Project - F20C/6sp/4-link/Discs...

Pictureless update (pics tonight):

Used the fender roller to gain as much space as possible without flaring the fenders and the 8" wheels just aren't going to work up front. There is a 7" version of these wheels available with 1/4" more positive offset so I will gain 3/4" of clearance to the fender. Gonna have to switch to those and probably a 215/40 instead of the 235/40's... Oh well, it'll be easier to steer...
