Re: 1970 VA Longbed Project
As I mentioned, I went ahead and sanded the rest of the paint off the top of the dash and also a little more at the driprails...

Re: 1970 VA Longbed Project
The cab has come a long way....found a shot that already had the new rockers and the front of the driprail gone...but still quite a change.....

looks really good - it is the subtle changes that make it 'your' truck in the end.

Re: 1970 VA Longbed Project
Well, only got a couple hours today and spent some time helping Jason get a jammed back hatch open on a SUV he was working on.
Got the airbag brackets drilled and the bags installed on the front. Got the spindle on one side. Hopefully will have more time soon.... Does anyone know if this will be okay...this dust cover won't slide over the ball joint. It's from CPP... ...and a parting shot of the cab

Re: 1970 VA Longbed Project
Inch by inch; you'll get there(got alot of inching to do myself!). Maybe once this is shiny you can trade it for a fat stack of cash AND a clean shorty project, real short.....no cab back panel.....removable top, if ya smell what I'm steppin in.

Re: 1970 VA Longbed Project
I'm considering making this a SWB truck (new frame and bed) and keeping the LWB stuff for my shop truck...then using whatever money the SWB brings to pay to finish up the LWB shop truck and build a blazer...

Re: 1970 VA Longbed Project
Cab looks sweet. I like the rain gutters removed, very modern look.
Only thing left is to make the top removable. |

Re: 1970 VA Longbed Project
Thanks...was hoping the ones included with the CPP kit would work with the CPP spindles I have used some others before I know will fit....will try to get the other one to go on but if not....I'll pick some up from NAPA.

Re: 1970 VA Longbed Project
So you are actually considering the SWB change over? You have a great project whether its long or short! Cab is looking Sweet! Pretty time consuming shaving the vents on the cowl? I've never done one of those before.

yeah, hopefully picking up a complete roller swb project locally tomorrow or tuesday. Will be stowing the longbed chassis, the longbed bed, and the new cab from the roller in my garage for the next project.

Re: 1970 VA Longbed Project
Jonathan you change your mind like I do, man, talk about ever knowing what to do, i hate being in that boat, Where is some pics of that new swb you bought. I wanna see. I agree with you thou. sometimes it is just better to get something done and sell it to fund your next project. Just be sure that it is the one hat you will not regret selling. Other wise great build so far.
