Re: project INCREDIBLE HULK 6.2L with 6L80E

ok, catching this thread back up. we desided that stainless steal airlines were more "the look" we are going for on this truck. so i ordered some fittings, lines, and went at it. so back down to tearing it down again to the frame... the 5 gallon tank that came with the air ride kit was too long to work where we needed it to. so we went with a shorter fatter 5 gallon tank, and also relocated the valves to a better maintaned spot. once all the hard parts were located i went to fabbing up the 3/8 ss airlines. the air tank mounting brackets were removed, and the tank was clocked and moved back, then the mounts welded back on. this was done to clear the cab and bed....since down to the frame, now is a good time to fab up the brake lines as well...

Nice work on the hard line Don. I like the bender too. It looks like a nice tool to have in my collection......details? What's the plan for the frame coating? paint or powder coat?

Re: project INCREDIBLE HULK 6.2L with 6L80E

thanks everyone...the bender is a well built (actually metal, imagion that these days) 3/8 tube bender, imperial is the brand.. the actual 'bend' of the tube is a smooth process, since it has 2 ballbarring rollers that actuall 'roll' on the tube as it bends, rather then the typical 'friction' type benders....the other part of the equaison is the flareing tool, ss isnt the easiest to flare... so i bought the mastercool hydralic flaring tool (with 37* dies too, for AN style ftngs)
as far as making hardlines for someone else, id be instrested, but need to orginize that around my current builds going on...

Re: project INCREDIBLE HULK 6.2L with 6L80E

ok, here is little bit of update.. got the front/rear brake lines ran, put a bulkhead in the frame where they will connect to the cab...also was checking the air lines for leaks, and playing with the rear bags(click last image to watch vid)...

getting a little bit more work done on hulk.. got the brakes lines wrapped up, got the 90*
-3an to 3/8-24 adaptors installed, and made up the hardlines for the rear end...i also drilled and tapped the trailing arms/ lower arms for the height sensors...here are a few pics, and the frame at ride height..

Are you not worried about it getting super hot under the hood with all that enclosed ? On another note everything looks sick!!!
