Re: "Slowly but Surely" Big J's build thread...
Started out with this stuff. It spread out nice with no pin holes but was tough to sand.
I'm tryin' to do it, lol.... |

Re: "Slowly but Surely" Big J's build thread...
I'd ask for an update, but I'm pretty sure it's just more sanding and primer and filler and sanding, and sanding...

Re: "Slowly but Surely" Big J's build thread...
Check this out, Cool for sure. Theres a guy on my way to work that collects old signs. He's of course a hot rod guy. I've even seen a old telephone booth in the back of a 53' Chevy pickup one time. He's got stuff, lol. Heres the latest.
Yesterday went well. I've got a couple small places to fix but over all it looks good. Next is filler primer and yes, some more sanding, lol. |

Re: "Slowly but Surely" Big J's build thread...
Yep
The story on the shop/house is that it used to be a garage, then turned into an apartment kinda pad and now back into a shop without a garage door, lol.... I'm painting in pieces. If it looks bad or has some bad trash in it etc., I'll take it to a booth and reshoot it all together. Hopefully I won't have to do that. If it turns out as nice as the tailgate did I'm in good shape. |

Re: "Slowly but Surely" Big J's build thread...
Fellas, I've got a paint booth. Its just really dirty with all kinds of crap in the way. As long as I don't move while I'm shooting paint its all good.

Re: "Slowly but Surely" Big J's build thread...
I'll try to keep up with this. We could all meet and have a "watch big J paint his blazer" party. It would be a bit of a commute but just to say you were there when...........

Re: "Slowly but Surely" Big J's build thread...
I'm gonna have to hurry up and paint this thing aren't I.... Then everyone can come over to a "Help me bolt it together party"
Got nuthin' done this weekend. Had a birthday party to go to. Then went to the machine gun shoot at Knob Creek, I highly recommend the shoot to anyone that enjoys firearms. I did get to the garage/palace today and helped my dad work on his S10. New pitman arm and rear shocks. |

Re: "Slowly but Surely" Big J's build thread...
Worked on making space yesterday. Went through and dug out everything that needs to be yellow, I hope. I'm going to try and prime/paint everything at once. I've made a spot for it all to hang. Should work out. If I can get off work Tues. and Wens. it'll be in color.
Apparently I left my knife laying in the line of fire when I shot the epoxy.... |

I like the hood, been thinking about going with one of those.
Who'd you get that from? Manufacturer? Do you have good heat in the shop? |
