Re: 67 cheby's Dropmember build thread
Your truck is going to be a killer man!
There is some things I won't do in this part of my build, That will have to wait until (phase II) Lets face it, Your truck will be an ongoing project, Even after you get it on the road. For me, It's a matter of, -What needs to be done now, -What I can afford now -What can be done later -And what will have to wait until I can afford it. But all in all, Your truck is coming along great, And you do fantastic work. Spike

Re: 67 cheby's Dropmember build thread
68tt could not agree more. I am in the same position two great kids and a great wife. Made alot more money when I was younger than I am now, but my life is so much better with my family and less money. And as far as building goes suspension, wheels paint none of it matters as long as the car and truck you are building is what you like.

Re: 67 cheby's Dropmember build thread
Yesterday my body man Mark Alexander(he is in one of the pics sweeping) from NEX-Hotrods, did my passenger side door gap (looks great) not 3/16 but very nice !! i went out sanded both doors down to bare metal and cleaned the rain gutter completley out (not one speck of rust in the rain gutter, that made me quite happy !! all in all a great productive night,(pretty awesome that he lets me come work on it to save me a little money, not many people let you do that ) i only found 2 little rust pinholes in the bottom corner of my drivers door, anyway heres the pics, man bare metal looks sweet !!

Re: 67 cheby's Dropmember build thread
i spent alot more than the welded version would have cost me having my fab shop weld it up, and i think my guys are pretty cheap they are 40 an hour!! i prob had double in it compared to what i could have bought one for !! but i thought it would just take them an hour or two , so learn from my experience and even if you weld yourself i dont think your time that you would spend doing it is worth it.... oh and one more thing i thought i would save money putting my own back half together , it prob would have been 1000 dollars cheaper (parts&labor) to buy the porterbuilt rear half and do it all myself !!!

Re: 67 cheby's Dropmember build thread
Hind sight sucks sometimes. I got the rear dropmember weld in version. Figured I'll just do it my self right.... Welder crapped out first 15 min on it. It was an old welder but my truck is still in pieces. BOLT IN RULES!!'
