Re: No Limit's "K-10"

Great showing. It always comes down to tires. Thank Cale for a great event, although next time you need to order in a pizza and some pacifico's for Chad @ 3:30 pm. That would have kept him a bit calmer. Personally, I think Terry N. is a great guy, and he has made huge gains with his Camaro in the last two years, BUT, I would have LOVED to see his face when the numbers came out. That was a shocker. Buy some mufflers for that corn wagon, we'll see ya soon.

Re: No Limit's "K-10"

It has them, I have a box of ear plugs for ya, and your right Terry N. is a great guy and that Camaro of his is a big dog, if he hadn't clipped that cone we would have went out second round but thats racing. Hope UPS has something for me, see you in Nashville we'll see what we can tear up there.

Re: No Limit's "K-10"

We went out testing last night at AMP in Riverside, our home turf track. Now that we have a fair baseline for tire pressures it's a lot easier to get started.
Two ways to set pressures for track use.
1. Tire temps, work on getting the 'outside', 'middle', and 'inside' temps the same. This can be tough on the front tires due to camber.
2. Scrub wear. Most of the tire reps we talk to say that in the hardest corner on the track, you should be rolling the edge of the tire just a bit. Most performance tires have a line at the edge of the tread on the sidewall, about a 1/2" down from the trerad surface. We are told there should be some scuffing of the tread down to that line.

I start with tire temps, and then look at the tread edge. - and try to get a happy medium. Here's the scary part. HellBoy likes LOW pressures, like 24 fronts, and 17 rears!!! - and I'm still not scrubbing the edges yet.
As the times get faster, the brakes get more important, and last night they hazed up. Kinda scary. Several calls this morning led us to a new set of pads. I'll let you know how it works out.

Truckin Throwdown is this friday. Check us out on Facebook at No Limit Engineering for updates throughout the day

Re: No Limit's "K-10"

Do you have an idea of when the article on Hellboy will appear in Truckin'? Also will there be any details of how you shaved the driprails? Yours are the first I've ever seen that I like.

Thanks,

Re: No Limit's "K-10"

Cool I'll have to find that.
Friday when we went to El-Toro for the Throwdown, I drove Hellboy to the event. I stopped in Colton and topped off the tank, set the trip odo. and headed out. It was 56 miles from the Colton station the Shell station at the exit for El-Toro. I pulled in and topped off. It took a whole 2.1 gal., and it was full full. WOW, 26 mpg! - ???? Hmmmm, maybe the speedo calc is off, but now I realy want to do a mileage test.

It is so light I don't think it is far off from that. A friends cammed 6.0 LQ4 swap 78 C10 gets 22 mpg at probably 1000 pounds + more vehicle weight than you.

Re: No Limit's "K-10"

Are you still worried about columbus? Don't stress about it. You'll have a nice 4 hour drive home, towing your beat down fighter. Look at the bright side, you'll have all that time to think about why took such a beating in your own back yard. As a side note, you may want to get a tetnus shot, I hate for you to be adding another excuse to the list. - " I had an infection, or distemper, or scurvy" whatever.

Re: No Limit's "K-10"

Oh hell that hippie had both! ( camero and mustang) White top tennis shoes and A mullet to boot! Hey long hair make sure your GPS unit is in the Dwarf Boy or Hell No or what ever you call that thing I don't want you to lose your way so you won't have an excuse as to why you can't come get your ass handed to you. I'm not worried about Columbus but you might want to think about Des Moines there's no need to wait till Ohio to do this Iowa is more like the go cart track your use to running on, now isn't that nice of me you can just go back to the left coast after the Hellyon gives up the ghost and you will save 600 miles of travel.

Think how nice it would be for you if I showed up in Des Moines. You could take your beating a week early, stop at home in Huntingdog, or wherever that hovel is, use your own cryin towel, change your stained underwear, and sulk your way on over to Columbus. Sounds like a perfect vacation for ya.
