Re: Project 78 High Sierra
Mine weren't welded on. I put a wrench on the nut side and when it stuck on the frame I used the ratchet and pipe on the bolt head side.

Re: Project 78 High Sierra
Well removing the bumper bolts failed again!!! Hit it with some more WD-40....May have to go buy another wrench or maybe give the vice-scripts a go as Ive been using my impact and socket wrench....

Re: Project 78 High Sierra
I got my pictures up bro, you can go check them out now. Sounds like those bolts are giving you hell, you'll figure it out though. at least your lucky enough my bumper since its steel its actually welded on so I got to figure out a way to get it off.

Re: Project 78 High Sierra
Next time you run into this problem, i suggest a torch lol. idk what it is but heating bolts up and then them breaking loose is something that always happens. after there out, and un frozen, give em another heating treatment (stainless steal shouldnt discolor) and douse them with water to strengthen them. wipe the sute up and shine em! oh and if you do heat any bolts up make sure you dont get em red hot.

Thanks! Nothing like a week vacation and a bunch of fellas coming over and helping getting the bed off the truck to get you back to work....However my pace has slowed with the cold weather and lack of funds.....Steady as she goes....Just need some heat so i can do some primer spraying

Re: Project 78 High Sierra
Looking good. Your body lines need to be set with the new bushings? I put the exact same ones in (cept mine were black) and I was lucky that the body lines stayed the same. Those bushings are for the core support. You'll want to change them when you can (but they are harder to get too). How tight did you get the bushings? Sounds like a dumb question but I believe you are supposed to tighten the bolt until you bottom out on that metal sleeve.
