Lovin' the Pin Stripes...
A longtime friend and fellow tattoo artist does pin striping in Colorado Springs, so it looks as though my cowl extensions will be boxed up in the near future for a round trip to his talented fingers...

Re: Crossing over, the 65 rebuild.
You still plannin on being at the Portland Swap Meet?
From going back and re-reading back through, I think I can find your booth. (although a big giant sign with a lite blinking arrow pointing and words saying, "Bomp, right here") would help. It'd be cool to have your spot set as a make-shift destination check in for fellow builders and see how many are able to show up. May be bringin the Orange '72 and slappin a for sale sign on to see if any interest. Last edited by Bomp; 03-30-2014 at 03:57 PM. |

Re: Crossing over, the 65 rebuild.
I have gone for many years, camped o the track and look forward to the next year. Lat year was nearly a rain out with Thursday being the only decent day. This year my wife is having to fly out of town Wednesday and not returning until next week, sounds like a green light man weekend right? Well, it was last minute and now I'm scrambling to find a house/dog/ 4 sal****er fish tank sitter last minute as I'm not keen on bringing 2 110lb dogs to babysit and stuff into the camper for 4 days in the rain. I'm loaded up , fridge is on and just have to hit the grocery store Thursday, but if by Wednesday its still showing 80% chance of rain all 4 days I will just drive up Saturday and bring some good boots and a rain coat.

I agree , it'd be great to meet up with you guys , Newfisher. We've actually met a couple years ago, when you had that super nice 55 wagon there.

You read it correctly. we were bummed when they took away the minibikes, but now just wait until security falls asleep at 10pm. Did you know that a Honda Mini Trail 50 in 3rd gear on PDX International Raceway at Midnight is faster than an electric golf cart with 2 security people? Ask me how I know

Re: Crossing over, the 65 rebuild.
Hahaha I grew up on that show!
Weather report sucks. Good new is my dually fired right up, camper fridge is rockin and I'm wondering if canned food from last spring will kill me or not? No pics or tech on my build on this page sorry. I've been chasing a water leak under the cowl on the drivers side. Funny how the fuse panel is positioned right under the drip. I did get a cowhide shifter boot made again and installed. The first one was too short. Installed the rear bumper splash shields....wow do they keep the crud off the back of the truck! I've been doing a remodel on the burro trailer. More polishing, new stove, cabinet floors/shelves, plumbed a heater, new decals, dishes, pots and pans and installing a water pump, inverter/converter/charger system, battery and some lighting. I'm on the fence wether to use a cooler or install a 2 way lp/110v fridge. Anyway, its been a couple hour after work and a couple weekend day project. Oh yeah, after living in the same house for 24 years I finally built a patio cover. Bought a big Treager BBQ and didn't want to leave it outside uncovered so I. Tossed up a 16x 24 sun tuff roofed super structure. The rain coat has had a work out lately during that build, but all is dry now and the Treager will get installed in it spot and fired off after this weekends swap meet. Still on the fence if I'm driving up to camp and people watch in the rain for 4 days or just drive up with LT1burb on Saturday, pull in all VIP style in my booth area and leave Saturday night. Good news, wifes outta town and there is 4 lbs of bacon that's gonna get eaten at the swap meet or at home!

Re: Crossing over, the 65 rebuild.
I vote for rain and shenanigans. Enough bacon and Likker, you won't care about the rain. We'll expect a full report, of course.

Re: Crossing over, the 65 rebuild.
Nice spot! Its only a temporary trailer to tow on a 2500 mile trip next month insstead of the bulky 1960 Avion. You don't even know this things behind you.

Re: Crossing over, the 65 rebuild.
Thanks for the ride up to Papas show and lookin in on Steiner.
Your truck is Great! Your a pretty cool Kat too! Your '65 never missed a beat. All day, in town, freeway, country roads. Moved right along. New meaning to "Shut up and Hold ON!" One of the coolest things though was all the people, every time, you pull in and they all start heading your way. Checkin out the Orange '65. Smiles, Compliments and thumbs up! Every time without fail. hmmmmm wonder how Steiner would look sportin Orange instead of Dirty Money Green. A shot of your '65 in my driveway Thanks for the great time. See ya on the next go around. |
