Re: What did you do to your truck today?

Realized that if I turn my a/c on then off the electric rad fan will not come on until I turn the truck off and start it again, aaaarrrggghhh. I reckon I'm taking this electric fan out and putting the mechanical one back in, only with a fan clutch this time......

Which comp cam did you use. I just put a Comp Extreme 4x4 270H in my 454 lately, what a huge difference.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

I went with the High Energy 268H in a stock 350. Should be a lot more fun that the OEM cam I've been running for the last 21 years. I've got a Richmond 4 speed with 2.64 low gear and a Dana 44 in the rear with 4.10's.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

Got my rear end buttoned up, installing the upper rear shock relocators, new tailights and housings, new rear wiring harness. Just waiting on the Lowes guys to bring my replacement compressor then I will install the springs and maybe the rear end tonight.

Why do your tail lights look off-centered??? Isn't there an aluminum housing for the lens to attach to?

I just noticed that. They came out all stuck together and I was so excited I didn't notice. Time for another trip to classic chevy.

They are kind of like that. They fit in the tail light recess. I ordered new ones from classic.

Just went out and put on the springs and shocks. Getting closer! I should have the rear end in Saturday and then the detail stuff starts.

Took off the front gas tank to my MH, it was leaking. Took it to a radiator shop for repair.

Pulled the 62's column, pedal assembly, built a dolly from scrap wood and pulled the cab off the frame.

Picked up the Hood from the painter, the bird is mounted (safest place for now) Damn she looks good. He's got the tail gate and should get that back soon. Then the bed and she be done.

Adjusted the valves on the new engine today. It's just about ready to go in the truck:

New fuel pump installed today on my SB350. It started and ran well so I guess I did it right.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

Still working on my 73 suspension/disc brake change over. Trying to bleed the brakes was driving me crazy. Pumping the brake pedal & bleeding didn't work, gravity bleeding didn't work, using a Mighty-Vac didn't work. I've NEVER had this much trouble getting brakes to bleed. So while at work I cut up a piece of 3/8" scrap aluminum slightly bigger than my master cylinder with a rubber gasket to match. I drilled & tapped the plate to 1/8" pipe thread, installed a regulator & ball valve, topped off the master with brake fluid, chained down my contraption, cranked the air pressure to 14 lbs and bled my brakes. I now have firm pedal pressure and good brakes!!! Next, paint the motor and get it installed.

Good problem solving my friend.. I just rebuilt a complete brake system on a 63 c-10 panel and used a pressure bleeder from the farthest wheel cylinder and worked my way to the front with no hassles....
