Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II

I installed a fire extinguisher today. It was the last part of my getting the truck ready for the summer. Below is a picture of my fusible link. While removing old brake lines one shorted to 12V.....and I got out from under to see my link glowing red hot. It did its job for sure. In the future I will be disconnecting the battery when working under the hood. Bottom picture is the rear end work I also finished today by torquing all the new spring hardware.

On the downhill slide with the front end rebuild. All that is left now is bolting everything back together!!

Picked up the front control arms from the powder coater. So much easier than wiring wheeling, priming and painting!

Looks like your powder coater was nice enough not to do the ball joint surface in the lower. Did he coat the threads for the cross shafts? Mine did, sucks getting it out.

He plugged the threaded end and the ball joints. Guy is top notch. He's done some commercial work for me as well. Always great quality. If you are in the KC area, HMC Performance Coating in Tonganoxie, KS.

Some friends and I were out hiking around the countryside in about 1962, and I spotted a plant with giant purple stalks that looked like celery. I broke off a stalk and took it home. My mom said it was wild rhubarb, and sent me back for more. I brought back enough for a bunch of pies. I love rhubarb pie, I think it's better than strawberry!

Drug her to the State Patrol office in Pueblo CO. for a certified VIN inspection. 14 months later I'll finally get a title for her.

Mmm..... Rhubarb pie ! .

It's far better than strawberry but most make it wrong, adding way too much sugar .

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II

All this food has made me happy again and to top it all off the machine shop has a cancelation so my block and crank go in today. I just might be driving it next month. Happy days I hope but I'll see after the machinist mics the crank to see how bad the damage is. My rib bones are crossed cause my fingers are covered in bbq sauce.

Thumbs up -food-

Dang you guys ! .

I'm old & retired now, I don't cook much/well so I don't eat much, now you're talking about Rhubarb pie and my other buddies are talking about potatoes, I guess I'll have to go out to breakfast .

I know of no place in Los Angeles that makes decent Rhubarb pie .....

Yep!! Food Network here.
That pie looks great. That's on my list this weekend also along with another big batch of Rhubarb sauce for yogurt.
I picked about 30lbs the other day.

We need a Food Section. Lol
