Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Used it like a truck and made a Lowes run to pick some things up for our garden. 10 bags of soil, 5 bags of manure, and 13 cinder blocks.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Dropped it off at Roger Lewis Makeover for my vintage air!! He came very highly recommended and is one of their top 25 installers and vendors... I felt my truck was out if place when I saw the cars he was installing A/C ... He treated me very friendly and took the time to explain all what was involved. Can't wait to get it back

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Got rid of the old burnt out exhaust and cheap headers and put in some proper ram horns. Runs smooth and quiet now, with only a slight drone at 1900rpm. I got away with only a bit more than $200 for the whole system. The most expensive piece was the Y-collector.

Everything pretty much bolted right up except for the Y-collector. It needed a bit of rework and tweaking to get it to line up just right without touching anything. Old headers in first pic.

After

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

New edelbrock valve covers and adjusted my rocker arms. One needs a new adjustment nut though as it keeps loosening up fast. I'll have to pick some up this week.

I have long been a believer in Moog front end parts. It's good stuff.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

That box of parts has been sitting in my garage for a year waiting for me... yes, they seem to be very high quality, and the difference in ride is AMAZING. only problem now is there is no more suspension clunk/rattle so you can REALLY hear the body panels over bumps. chasing body rattles...sounds like next weekend's project!

Talking Re: What did you do to your truck today!

I decided to try my hand at fixing a couple of really small dings on the drivers side of the truck. I took my touch up paint and filled the small area's with paint. i let it dry over night and then took mineral sprits and rubbed the spots just enough to get them smooth. It turned out great they dis appeared and now I have moved on to the hood area and front bumper. Hoping to get the same results there.

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

beat, grind, pry and curse the soul that decided spot welding was the best way to attach the angle strips to the bed walls on my stepper. First time I have not enjoyed working on this truck. But its over. Got some repairs to do where I dimpled the walls...then on to the new wood bed.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Finally got all the stinkin 5 million layers (7 layers) of paint off the tail gate!

And sprayed a quick coat of primer to keep the rust away before it got dark

Woot!
