You should look into getting a starter from a 90 to 96 full size 4x4 truck. They are a little smaller but have a higher output than the older starters. The 4x4 versions have a smaller opening in the snout to help prevent debris from getting in there when off road driving. The 2wd versions have the typical large opening in the snout but are a little cheaper. About $60 at AZ with a lifetime warranty.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

S10's & Astro vans used the starters too from 88-95 on the S10 and 91-96 on the Astro plus full size vans too so if you are on a tight budget you can get one from Pull & Save for under $17 out the door.

Fixed my fuel gauge by replacing the float on the sending unit. The old one was full of gas.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Finished welding in inner rockers, floor patch, a pillar and fender brace on passenger side. Painted with por 15. Also painted under arm with por 15 while painting bottom of cab laying on floor. Didn't notice drips into shirt sleeve untill to late. Wife couldn't stop laughing. Now on to the cab corner and outer rocker.

Very cool. I love it when my boys give me a hand. Didn't do a thing today but started it in the garage yesterday.

Went outside thinking I needed a starter, just had a loose wire. So I loaded some of my guns up and spent some quality time at the range.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Got my heater to quit working. It was 100 degrees outside today, and i drove about 50 miles with the heater blowing, that inspired me to fix it REAL quick.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

today I pulled my gas tank (under bed stainless steel) I had fuel pressure issues. found a rubber glove in the tank (no extra charge) the most crazy discovery I've made to date! Truck would run great! then all of a sudden fall on its butt & starve for fuel(only with 3/4 of a tank or more) go figure! anywho, thing works fanfriggintastic now & once more I love my truck! cheers, Pat

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

It was a good weekend

yesterday i changed the water pump and alternator and painted all my pulleys and inner fenders...

Today i "isolated" my grill to stop some squeaks, cleaned up a little wiring, and I drove around the city lakes and scouted out some trim pieces

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Replaced the upper and lower radiator hoses, the radiator cap and refilled her with Prestone 50/50. She had a senior moment late last night, got all hot and bothered and pee'd all over my driveway.

Cut out the passenger side upper seat belt anchor as the spot welds had broken and the upper anchor was rattling. If I knew before what I know now I would have just drilled above and below the nut and used those holes to plug/spot weld the inside support thingy to the sheet metal. Now, I have to weld the sheet metal back in, sand it, smear on some bondo, sand, repeat a few times and then repaint.

Fixed my rusted core support. Used a piece of the bed support that I cut out for the blazer tank. worked pretty good. Yeah I know my welds are ugly.
