It may be out your era but it looks bad @$$. I can't wait for the, 64, 65, 66 crew. It kinda sounds like a Johnny Cash song.

could'nt think of anything else to call it Dale..
ah-hah...now i can build what i really want to...
here's my $17 buck paint for it. guy at the store says it's "hampsted metallic green" apparentley an '80s honda color (?) i picked it cause i thought it was oldsmobile green metallic engine paint. tuff color to photo, changes color every time i try to take a pic. check it out, i'd say the last one is closest to what it looks like real life, and it's still not the same

i see some '66 crews have a strip of body between the door gaps, and some share the same jamb like most later crews, and thats the route i'm going. cut the doors the same length at first....did'nt quite look right to me

Re: '64 chevy 2wd to 4wd

this is a fun build Dale, really enjoying this one, lots of parts to play with...
ended up re-doing the top of the windows, added some strip styrene in there....and notice the vent is white- broke the stock one twice, so said the hay with it and made one...

after the first round of bodywork, not too bad, splice seams are ghosting, need a little more work. left the top of the door jamb line out 'till i put pillars in and can line them up...

Re: '64 chevy 2wd to 4wd

thanks Dale!
slowed down to practically nuthin last few weeks. was waiting and waiting for my '66 from fleabay to get here, finally emailed and asked what was happening, guy is like "oh, it got back-ordered to july" grrrr.....(especially cause i'm also on day 12 of quitting smoking too...)
so today went on a 150 mile pilgrimage to the big city. and i came home with a '66, and a couple others, prices were just too good to pass up.....and i aint blowin 20 bucks a day on smokes anymore...
Name: 063.jpg
Views: 269
Size: 50.8 KB

with the spare cab from the '66, i'll turn the '60 into a crew shortbox, and got a wicked plan for the blazer. will look cool...
and here is finally all the kits needed for the '66 crew dually...
Name: 067.jpg
Views: 261
Size: 59.5 KB

did get the 427 pretty much together, and also fitted the step fenders so i just have to glue them on once i stretch the box
Name: 135.jpg
Views: 262
Size: 43.5 KBName: 065.jpg
Views: 268
Size: 65.2 KB

while i was waiting for the '66 to get here, started digging in boxes and found everything (inc tires...) to do another '57 cameo. actually i found 2 cabs.....but already got a '55 crew, so this one is a supercab instead..
yah, 2 on the go, not the smartest thing...

i just keep thinking about the 20 bucks i'm saving every day......plus i can run to the mailbox without losing my breath now...lol
got some bigger stuff on the crew dually done. now that i got my 8 footer together, i was able to add the second stretch to the frame

It's coming together really nice. Speaking of Bud, the Clydesdales are here. Yesterday I took my girlfriend to see them and have our pictures taken with them. It's amazing how big they are. I also played fetch with the dalmatians. Keep up the great work on the truck and stay strong on the smokes.

The Clydesdales were at the brewery in Fairfield. So yep they brought them to work. Both of the trucks look great. Good luck on weight gain.

Re: '64 chevy 2wd to 4wd

no probs with the weight Dale, finally caught some decent weather and racking up some decent hrs, weight has stabilized around 190...i can live with it...
thought the no smoking would get easier after a month or so, but the last couple weeks i been getting some super STRONG urges, guess now that some time has passed and all the nicotine has left my body, my brain is constantly yelling for some more...lol
thinking this is prob the hardest thing i've tried, but i am now starting to enjoy the benefits.
just wish my rims and tires for the '66 crew would hurry up and get here. ordered them last month, usually is 7-10 days, going on week 4 now.....what is going on....
so nothing on it
did some work on the '55, but i got a prob with it too...thought i had a int tub for it, but dont have one. got nuthin even close, one out of a car, but major, major work....
going to try find a stepside '55, get my int tub and have a stepper box for the '60 crew to come, think the stepper will look better on the crew than the short fleet. did get some of the drivetrain done on the '55
