Crazy story. Never can be too safe.

And yes, I can't wait to be cruising this thing. I just don't have the time I used to when we didn't have kids. Hope to get some good weather soon.

Looks and sounds great! I never tried that with mine during the build.
Heck...tighten down a few things, strap a seat to it and go wheeling!

Thanks Kurt. Trust me, I want to drive this thing. Just have to wrap up the bodywork. Well, I need to start on it first. Things are falling into place. Just need to make some extra $$

Thanks Mark! I'm glad you found my build. I have a long way to go. Kinda on hold right now till I sell some stuff.

It's amazing how much cash you can "invest" in one these old trucks. I keep a running spreadsheet, I highly recommend you don't do that. I am pretty dang tight and all those nickels and dimes add up quick.

I keep all my receipts in a shoebox - a different one for each vehicle, and the only reason I do that is to substantiate what has gone into it.

Mike, I recommend ditching the spreadsheet unless you have your pc locked down. If the spousal unit runs across it, your're ^%#^*ed.

Confirmed it's not a NOS and not aftermarket core support. Just a very clean used OEM that had been cleaned up, repainted and started surface rusting again. Seller told me he thought it was new when he pulled the engine.

Good idea with the receipts. I should do that. Not sure it will go over too good when she finds out a real $ amount. She calls it that "imaginary truck".
That's all gonna change in 2012 it will look like a truck again next year.

BbQ it will be. The biggest problem is with scheduling. They had a big meet 2 years ago and I was fishing. Hopefully, we can get it worked out where a bunch of members can come. Hope to be driving mine this time.

Thanks! I'm not sure on the mileage but I would guess around 17-20mpg with the 4.8. But, would really like to upsize to a 6.0 more like 15mpg

I'll second that.

I've been without a drivable truck for too long. I can't wait to get my stepside on the road.

Don't sweat it. It was a rough year for the Sooners even at 10-3.
Looking for some good weather to get some work done on the cab this weekend.
