Re: My 52 GMC Build

Cool that you got the safety. ...surprise that they will not make you get the black plates for trucks ....or in Ontario when you do get personal plates only come in blue

Re: My 52 GMC Build

Still some work to be done. But that's ok because by sunday night we had 8" of new snooooow So less than 2 weeks till my first drive the motor should not be like this.
All is good tho, I pulled the injection pump and injectors to get them checked on Saturday morning at a local injection place and I can help him. Also I had a fairly bad oil leak on the crank case vent so I'll get it fixed too.
Went from this:

Re: My 52 GMC Build

Today I put the running board checker plate back on and installed the box skirts.
I also got my now fake gas filler mounted with it's new gasket and mounting bracket. It just has a screw to the inner cab skin.

Ya I like the look of the gas cap there even though I'm not using it. Guess I'll find out.

Better be careful of full service gas stations where a kid comes out and fills your tank, washes your windows and checks your oil...... ooops what am I thinking????? this is the 21st century where we have to DO EVERYTHING OURSELVES again..... and they get $15 an HOUR!!!!! to do Nothing

Dont fill up your cab with fuel!!!!

More nice work! That heater will definitely help. My 40 Ford didn't have a heater and it can get sketchy in the fall. Open the cowl vent and enjoy the freeze out.

nice job on the cap! I stuck an upside down pop cup from QuikTrip in my 65 It worked to seal against the rubber and didnt let any water in, and not one person noticed.

Re: My 52 GMC Build

Well this weekend I got lots done. Saturday morning I met up with a friend of a friend who works at a local injection shop. We spent 4 hrs going through the pump and injectors. The pump was out of spec and after putting some new parts into it and calibrating, it is perfect. 4 injectors where good 3 where low on pressure and one was blocked by me not having the right tools to take them apart. But all good now. By Saturday night we fired the motor back to life and wow it purrs now, also has wicked throttle response. It was so worth the time and effort. It's amazing how much better it runs on 8 cyl. lol
Sunday got both my door poppers wired permanently, cleaned up my heater wires, also terminated some other wires.
This Saturday is my first drive ever!! Oh and my bday and my maiden voyage.

Re: My 52 GMC Build

Wow quite the machine he has there I looked around my town and couldn't find anyone that had even heard of flow matching injectors. Everyone I talked to either said "I don't work on that new crap" or "Just get bigger injectors"

I think we can all agree that we need that madden voyage video
