Re: 68 project
I have been wanting to check your thread out for a while, and after looking at it I am asking myself why I waited so long! This truck is definitely cool, and will be even cooler when it is done!

Re: 68 project
Larry,
I agree that looks tight man, I think I would definitely put a small bolt in notch at the very least.

Re: 68 project
Okay, okay I ordered one this morning but now I just went over budget !!! I had my budget build all planned out and it just busted over a c-notch
I knew it was pushing close it was pretty obvious, I was just really trying to avoid it tbh

Re: 68 project
My dad has a few of those mac impacts, they work well. Just make sure you lube them VERY well or they start losing power and get really dirty VERY fast

Re: 68 project
I was going to ask about the c-notch when I saw your photos but clearly everyone else had the same question! So I'll come at it from the other perspective, do you really need the notch? I assume you figured you didn't if you hadn't put one in at first, but now I'm really wondering. I will have 4" springs and 2" blocks on the back of my truck which will give me a few more inches of clearance from what you have here, and I'm wondering if I need one. I don't have a notch worked into my immediate budget and I don't want to blow the budget on a notch either Oh, and the truck's looking really nice!

Re: 68 project
You are definitely making progress. You may or may not need a notch. But adding one can't hurt.

Re: 68 project
I hope everyone knows I was joking over breaking the budget, can you build one to this extent on a true budget ?
I have the two pieces of frame section I cut off the backside of the 8 foot bed frame I used on mine and thought about welding those in for the notch, I think they would work fine.

Re: 68 project
You can try to be frugal but I agree I keep day dreaming of doing different things.. and if you get what you pay for you don't want to be cheap. I'm debating on my interior and whether or not to re-do bench seat or...it could mean a thousand bucks right there depending on what I decide. ?"68 Project" sounds like it could go on and on...
