I would guess around 375 at the crank. I built it like Hotrod magazine did years ago and they got 400. When I had it in a 75 vette with a Turbo 350 and a 3.08 gear it felt like a dog. It never felt like I thought it should. It could have been the vette. The trans may have been wore out. We'll see when I run it in the truck.

Thanks, I've only got one bedside done so far. Still gotta do the hood and fenders. Concentrating on the cab and engine and trans right now. Not too mention the kitchen overhaul.......I mean restoration. You know why the grass is greener on the other side of the fence............The septic tank is over there.

Alan what factory gear came in your rear end. Mine has 4.10's and I want to change to a 3.42 but not sure if I can use my same housing.

Your frame looks really good Ruffrida. Why don't you start a build thread? Or did I miss it that one?

My 65 rear end had a 4.10 also, but I'm running a 72 rearend now. I believe it had a 3.08. I wanted a posi so everything got replaced. I could be wrong and more than likely I am, but I think 3.73 and up uses the same carrier (4 series??) Below 3.73 is a 3 series (I might have the series reversed). I don't think your carrier will work with a 3.42. I bought all of my stuff from Sadler Powertrain in Texas. He's on ebay and very helpful. I told him what trans, rearend, and tire sizes I was running and what RPM I wanted to be on the highway.

Re: My 1965 build thread

the DP90 sprayed really good, my buddy told me to spray it on first with like a wrinkle affect for the second coat to adhear to it good, then I just had to turn down the air. I was surprised how well I got it. only second time I've sprayed paint this way, and the first time. lets just say fish eyes everywhere.

Did you degrease your frame prior to spraying. One thing to remember, never have or use an silicone anywhere around where your spraying paint. So if you detail a car in the driveway and you use silicone for any reason it will create alot of problems.

I've been lucky to have experienced people around to ask questions. But I've learned the most from my mistakes. Mistakes suck and cost money and time, but very educational.
