Re: 1971 c10 stepside

Looking forward to your header choice. I think TBSS should fit, but haven't verified. Schoenfelds do, but come close to the a-arm. Are you sure the alternator and compressor will clear your frame?

Everything I ordered that was bolt on for my swap was cut and welded on to make it fit the way it needed too. even had to ding a header tube a touch.

Re: 1971 c10 stepside

I really hope this works out for you- accessories look much better mounted low. Link is to a '69 w/ F-car accessories, which are a similar mounting arrangement, but .75" deeper than yours- fingers crossed!

Re: 1971 c10 stepside

Raul it's the same as a lsa. The idler pulley above the compressor is almost in the same place as the superchaeprger pulley. I went and measured my buddies ctsv today to get some dimensions. Just FYI. They were at least super close measuring with a tape measure inside the car.

cool , im sure its probably a minimal difference , i guess gmpp does not want to be responsible for the small tweaks when they sell these kits , these kits are not for everyone , so its a good thin to post and read as much info as possible before anybody goes and spends 800.00 bucks on one of these kits ,you may have to temper with your frame a lttle with some of these swaps , i for one have no problem tempering with my frame , so ill be the ginea pig and ill post every detail on it once i get to that stage an a month or so , thanks again for all the info guys

Good deal. Family is important even if it hurts in the morning. We can't keep up like we would like but it's hard to admit it.
