Stuff is happening with the trucks behind the scenes, but we are getting excited, just a bit.
Hard to believe 10 months have passed and now we are seven days away from flying out.

Re: Martin's mi-STRESS, 1965 Long Fleetside C10 "Rebuild in ENGLAND"
I have lightbulb envy, but then I do have flames. Thanks Bomp. Over at Martins tonight. Just carried his chassis into the back yard. Now he is spraying the POR 15 Metal Prep on the chassis with a spray bottle. (Crying about his fingers aching)while I surf the web Then we have to do the final Passport updates online for our flights next week. Anyone mention that we are all counting down together? After that it's pressure clean the chassis, carry it in and dry it off so he can get on with painting it tomorrow evening after work.

Re: Martin's mi-STRESS, 1965 Long Fleetside C10 "Rebuild in ENGLAND"
Teamwork..... Well, working together does make a huge difference.
Chassis prep went off while we sorted online info. Then I pressure cleaned the top and bottom of the chassis, Martin got his new compressor up to pressure and used that to blow all the excess water out of every crease, crevice and joint. While he continued with that I went into the carport and pressure cleaned all vertical and horizontal surfaces, now that space is ready to paint the chassis in as well. After all the blowing, spraying etc we carried the chassis back into the carport, with Martin's Amanda moving the chassis stands for us. Next up we set it all even higher so painting will be easier. While we were busy here, Nicola had gone for a walk on the farm and sent me this envy provoking photo. I think she wins on the best way to spend a few hours after work scale today. There you go then.......... Counting down now.

Re: Martin's mi-STRESS, 1965 Long Fleetside C10 "Rebuild in ENGLAND"
Well I got in from work this evening , and went straight into the carport , first I cleaned up the chassis then managed to get the first coat of POR15 on . Rian is coming over in the morning as we have a little bit of running around to do for our trip. Then when I get back hopefully I can get the second coat of paint on . It then has 3 weeks to harden while we are away .
One coat on

Re: Martin's mi-STRESS, 1965 Long Fleetside C10 "Rebuild in ENGLAND"
Well on Saturday Rian came over so we could go into town , to sort out some last minute arrangements for our trip . Once he dropped me back home , I took Amanda's son to his friends , as I needed to go to the hardware store to get a few more brushes and a mixing pot .
Once home I mixed the Black POR 15 I had left with a new tin of Grey POR 15 to darken it up a little Second coat of darker grey So Sunday morning as myself and Rian had prior engagements he turned up early and when I say early I mean 6:45 AM to flip the chassis over So onto Sunday afternoon I had arranged to go down with three of the lads that I used to work with when I managed a body shop , to go and visit George our old panel beater two of the lads were his apprentices and it was a bit of a surprise for him as he hasn't seen them for about 8 years . George and his partner Leslie had laid on a lovely dinner . All I can say is his cooking is almost as good as his panel beating . While I was there I collected my front grill that I had left there earlier in the year . George had worked his old magic and got rid of all the dents in the grill So a great weekend all in all an even better one to look forward to

I like the dark grey. Makes a change to the usual black. Have a good holiday.

Excellent. My Dodge Dart arrived in Southampton on Saturday, so just waiting for it to clear customs! All exciting times!

Re: Martin's mi-STRESS, 1965 Long Fleetside C10 "Rebuild in ENGLAND"
Popped over to Martin's earlier to pick up my wishbones.... Forgot.
Booked our seats when online booking opened. Until we booked, the seats we wanted, twin row, right at the rear, meaning more space and less people crawling over you, were for sale as a pre-booking option at £43.00 per booking. So by waiting till it opened, I guess we each now have another £43.00 or $65.48 to spend on spares. Now we can probably say.......

Re: Martin's mi-STRESS, 1965 Long Fleetside C10 "Rebuild in ENGLAND"
Tonight I finished packing and went into the carport and sanded down the underside and put another coat on , as its now the other way up after we flipped the chassis over on Sunday . Well no more truck time till November . Well my truck that is but plenty of trucks to see and loads of parts to collect . I think November is going to be busy
