Re: 198Plus build

All right guys I going to attempt to finish my truck with out any help from the guys at the shop........Should be very entertaining.....lol..... I think Alan is going to try to help walk me though this process and I hope I can get everyone's help in trying to finish my truck.

Alan I clamped the a post back to where you cut it, looks like to me the Cross brace of the floor got bent upwards while transporting.....correct me if I'm wrong.

Re: 198Plus build

Ronnie, you know a consulting fee is very expensive.

Take the inner rocker piece out and see if the piece I cut off the A post will line up where it is suppose to on the cab support. The gap on the A post cut should be the width of a cut off wheel, about a 1/16". Once that is determined to be correct then put the inner back in and start fitting.

I worked on the A posts today, trying to fit them before installing kick panels.

Looks kind of funny here. I'm not sure what is going on. Maybe it looks funny because the kick panel is missing.

I think you should cut the floorboard out and flint stone it.

Re: 198Plus build

Ronnie, looking at the pics it's hard to tell from here what is actually going on. Either the door is bowed out in the middle or the rocker is sucked in in the middle. The gap looks about right, but to me there is still some checking to be done. To give a better answer it would be better to see it in person. Basically from the pics your close, but not close enough. If you are unhappy with anything about the fit, now is the time to fix it. Don't rush it because later on you will wish you hadn't. Making some great progress so far.

Maybe you can lend him your electron microscope. It looks like that door might have been wacked. I'm betting on a warped door. Could'nt be the made in china rockers. Maybe try a made in china door? I think Ruff has been hitting the Skittlles again.

Re: 198Plus build

DAve, those doors came off of my truck. They are in pretty good shape, although they do need some rust repair and some dents fixed. It doesn't take much of a bow to create a bad body line. While repairing the rust in the bottom of the door it can be straightened out.

I don't think it's the door or the rocker, it's the dumbass that's working on it........Lmao

Re: 198Plus build

Man looking at post 1010 and 1015 your floor panels appear to fit perfectly. My forward floor panel is not stamped right the holes do not line up and it's missing the upper lip. Crap I thought this was just the quality to expect. Did your restamps fit as well as they look?

It's too late to return mine as I already cut it up for installation... I'm depressed... Oh well live and learn... It just seems, lately, I'm learning too much cost wise.
