Re: What Did You Do With Your Truck Today ?
Spent an hour and a half drilling out rusted bolts. Mostly it was the stupid clutch head bolts holding the rear fender on. Should of just skipped buying the clutch head sockets and started with drilling them out, would of saved a couple hours of cleaning and fighting with them.
Anyone else up for finding out who created clutch head bolts and who decided they'd be a good idea to hold the rear fenders on and take them out back?? |

Re: What Did You Do With Your Truck Today ?
I sanded off about four coats of globbed on paint from the inside of my bed and sprayed it with three coats of rattle can bedliner. It has a decent texture and seems to be pretty hard but was difficult to avoid streaks. It is Dupli-color brand. I also installed stainless side strips from Mar-K useing stainless truss head screws. Was going to spot weld it on but decided screws would be better for preventing future rust between the strip and bed side. My original side strips had long ago been removed and replaced with pop riveted angle iron.
The board in the pic are just there to position the strips, bed wood is my next project. |

Awesome that's cool to hear! I needed that along with the vacuum windshield wipers. I have the rest of the pieces just not shown. Do you have any idea how much the deluxe heater would bring in this condition? Just wonder, i will Not be selling it so its all good.

Re: What Did You Do With Your Truck Today ?
All the insides seem to be there and intact. I just took everything apart so putting back together should be a breeze, Everything moves freely too so that is nice. Which is really surprising because the rest of the truck or cab is pretty much rusted out and falling apart.

Re: What Did You Do With Your Truck Today ?
I know they dont work well, but i like the "cool" factor, plus i would like to keep the truck as stock as possible. Maybe one day ill go electric, for now, vacuum!

Re: What Did You Do With Your Truck Today ?
Lookin' good. A 3 or 5 axis laser works well for squaring the rear cross member to the frame. Does the Camaro rear cross member have locating pins like the corvette? You're going to like that setup. Good luck with the build.

Thanks guys! very nice of you to say.
The seat is an after market seat by a company call TEA's design. It fits the truck great and i love how comfy it is. painted my rear fender today can't wait to see how well or bad i did for my first paint job. Thanks again Ray |

Re: What Did You Do With Your Truck Today ?
Six hours banging, plastic & sanding. Hood is almost perfect. Some silver dollar size dents from shutting it to hard, no rust.
