Here is some info on the tires, they are Dunlop rover max traction's, LT245-75R16. Tread pattern is fairly aggressive, 90% tread left. The direction of this build has changed a bit since I first started, at first I was wanting to lower the truck but now I've decided to keep it stock height and get some bigger more aggressive tires because I'm going to be driving the truck on fishing and hunting trips on rough roads in the near future.

Way more fun to make then so you can use them. IF I ever do another or redo the Mule, it will NOT be quite so low. I do like its looks, but it is a pain in the butt getting down some roads and driveways of my friends.

Happy birthday Nik. Keeping the truck stock height sounds like a good plan if you're going off the paved roads

That was my dilemma, I wanted a lowered truck because they look much better in my opinion, but I also wanted to be able to drive the truck on rougher forest service roads. So I decided I wanted usability more than good looks.

Thanks Anthony, I'm pretty confident that it will be on the road by late spring, especially since I'll have 2 solid weeks to work on it during march break

Re: Nik's 62 build

I got the new (new to me) motor mount in today! It took me a while to find one of these and I managed to find this one in Missouri, the guy decided an old motor mount wasn't worth much so he gave it to me for free! so I shipped it here (only $15 shipping surprisingly). Here it is, has a slight bulge but for being 56 years old it looks great!

Re: Nik's 62 build

That motor mount certainly is an improvement. Keep checking things off the to do list and you'll be driving soon.

It sure is, thanks for the inspiration Dale!

Over the past couple days I've been getting the firewall finished up, putting in grommets and clips, organizing wiring etc. And just last night I had two buddy's over to give me a hand getting the motor in, as you can see below we had success!

Re: Nik's 62 build

All I needed to do to get the motor in was attach my front motor mount perch to the crossmember, to my surprise when I mocked it up it lined up perfectly! So all I needed to do was weld it up. I also plan to drill holes through the crossmember and install some grade 8 bolts just to be safe.

Yesterday I went on a parts hunt again and came back with a few neat items I got from a 61 one ton cab, one of them was a choke cable assembly, here it is.

Here is the old one that needed replacing badly, some kind of aftermarket cable and knob that didn't fit correctly and was also broken

Re: Nik's 62 build

I installed it in the dash and ran the cable through a grommet in the firewall and hooked it up to the carb. Now all the dash knobs match. The yellow one below will not be staying.
