Re: What Did You Do With Your Truck Today ?
Put the bed, bumper, tag, and taillights on and went for a drive. Got one minor issue to work out, no rear emergency flashers, but all else works. I picked up a column mounted backup light switch on EBay so I'll address the emergency flasher issue when I get back under the dash to install that.
I have paid insurance for three years and bought three tags for this truck with out driving it so for now I just want to drive it, LOL. |

I have just been logging miles on mine - 500 miles and 3 oil changes so far, incident free. Every kid in town that thinks they have a fast car has been askin for a whoopin' but I'm still babying her and street racing is something I left behind a long, long time ago. Kinda wishing now I would have removed the door handles tho...to late/ah well... |

I took my factory ac{cowel vent} Off then took the seat frame and tracks out and found broken front track mounts. after that I took the gas tank out then removed the old cab windlace and vaccumed out a ton of crap.

Re: What Did You Do With Your Truck Today ?
I'm waiting on parts so I stripped my other chassis of the usable pieces like side board mounts, cab mounts, and master cylinder and mount, to clean up and sell. Its My budget that is going to be what either lets me or keeps me from driving this summer.

Re: What Did You Do With Your Truck Today ?
Thanks Ray, i think it took less time than trying to follow all the long lines then grinding it all smooth it only took about 10 minutes to cut after I made the template. much less time than my steering coulmn.

Went to the local Pick-N-Pull and pulled a Explorer rear end. Under 100 bucks for disk brakes, posi and good gears.

Re: What Did You Do With Your Truck Today ?
After buying it on Thursday, I drove it from where it has set for who knows how long back home. Pull started her, brakes didn't work so I used the hand brake on the backroads all the way home! Very fun, nerve racking, dirty, and definitely dangerous adventure. I am fully aware of how dangerous it was, but the backroads weren't very busy. 1948 1 1/2 ton Loadmaster and the 'ol 235 ran pretty good!

Re: What Did You Do With Your Truck Today ?
More sanding. Dropped the tailgate on the Chevelle fender, now I have that body work to look forward to. Called it quits while I was ahead.

Re: What Did You Do With Your Truck Today ?
I made some backing plales with welded nuts that I welded to the inside of the frame.
That way when I weld the boxing plates on I don't have to worry about fighting the nuts that hold the runningboard hangers. |
