Sweet! It's sad to see them go but knowing it is a good truck makes you somehow feel good.

Re: 49 3600, s10 swap, project boogie
Yeah I seriously considered it, but the shipper quoted $150 more than I figured my actual cost of dragging it on a trailer myself. Licensed, insured, door to door in less than 2 weeks, no staging or waiting. and for me, no 18hrs one way drive over the mountains in winter...
Yeah, I covered that $150 myself. He makes runs all over, mainly on the east coast but he goes to texas and I think he even said Las Vegas once. Good number to have.

Re: 49 3600, s10 swap, project boogie
thansk nut, the 41 is started, link in my signature. My wifes maternal grandmother died and that coupled with getting the 49 ready to ship has delayed my progress. But I should still have a runner in january, so much easier with the wiring and systems on this one.
here is the last update to this thread! I will stick around but this is literally the last thing I have done, deliver the truck to the trailer. My neighborhood, specifically the dead end street and the one way street for construction, isnt conducive to a 40ft trailer, and we got some snow and cold, so I decided to drive the truck and meet him for the pickup. So quiet. snow, and bitter bitter cold. I had water in the overflow so I had warm it up to add some coolant. it was -10 in this picture and the truck started instantly and warmed up like a dream. today I dropped it off, the new owner will have it Wednesday in time for christmas! I wanted to get a bow for it but didnt get one in time. train came by at the perfect moment! I love being on North Broadway by the trains for pictures.

Those are some cool shots of the truck. Hopefully the shipping goes smoothly and the new owner is happy.

Re: 49 3600, s10 swap, project boogie
It turned out be a great looking truck. I really liked the tire a wheel combination along with the other interior touches. Your final suspension worked nailed it on the stance too. A lot of attention to detail here, definitely a build to be proud of, great work!

The truck looks and sits great. Love those wheels too. I wonder how those would look on a TF.

Re: 49 3600, s10 swap, project boogie
thanks guys, it was a long and winding road of at least 4 projects and I am really happy with how it turned out. I drove it around a bit before loading it on the trailer, and it was amazing. quiet, smooth, powerful, great ride.

So I think I found your old ride. Saw it in Rat Rod Magazine. It was at the lone star round up.

wow thanks! looks awfully similar! texas is a haul from pa, but I trust that truck would make that drive in a second.

Re: 49 3600, s10 swap, project boogie
I looked at the patina patterns and they looked super close. Lol. Now that I study it more I do see the difference. But man is it close.

Re: 49 3600, s10 swap, project boogie
well, it has a stainless mirror head too, and the bed sides and fenders look to be showing some blue, so I cant say its not. haha lots of similiarity in most of these trucks though.
