Re: 68 K-10 SWB build thread - project Money Pit...pics galore!

thanks.. The HEI's are just so maintenance free and most aftermarket wiring harnass' are setup for them.. All you do is pull your old, insert the new and run a 12V wire from the fuse box.. instant upgrade, dependable and powerful...

I was going to run the electronic points replacement and maybe I should have to keep the stock appearance and cap size, but that's gone now...

That's a lot of seatbelts, are you converting this thing to a crewcab or what?

This a a complete shoulder/lap belt setup... i think it belongs to a Camaro though so we'll see how it fits and if it will work.

Re: 68 K-10 SWB build thread - project Money Pit...pics galore!

picked up some parts for the MP at Carlisle this weekend..

Found the intake I needed to make it stock again (don't ever get rid of original parts!!!), nice oil filter canister (mine's pitted and nasty), new tailgate handle, splash aprons came from Hart_rod in NM, tilt column parts from Woody's trucks, and some wipers and refurbished parking lamps from Jerry Brown...

Also picked up an NOS underdash harness that's now for sale.. found out it was for an idiot light gauge for a 69 and up so it won't work...

If anyone is considering aftermarket vent windows then contact Jerry Brown from the TN truck shop, he has a new supplier and they are pretty nice.. seem better than the one's on the market right now..

Met up with a bunch of the gang sourkrout (and mrs.), JC, Special-K, zoomy, the whole CPNE clan from NH and a few others...

just kidding.. $25 for 50 "made in the usa" so they say... They spun welded the plastic on them so they seem strong but a little stiff... we'll see, I didn't want a super cheap set that was glued together and break the first

Re: 68 K-10 SWB build thread - project Money Pit...pics galore!

Sorry I missed meeting you guys. I ended up going Wednesday(had to work Thur.Fri.Sat).Got alittle wet, but it was still a good day.Did you happen to see the black 71ish k10 in the for sale area? thought about your project when I saw it. How did you like using those 3m discs? The ones with the little fingers.I looked all over the show for them, but could not find anyone that had them. I was thinking on using them for the small stripping jobs, rather then running to a blaster every time I need a body part stripped. I thought for sure eastwood would have them but no luck. The vendors that sell the "cheap" stuff only had the scotch brite type and metal bristle discs. What day did you end up going to the show? I know you said that you had a meeting Wed., so I figured you wouldn't be there before Thur or Fri.

????

My VIN is original and never removed..

CARZ1968, I missed that K-10.. I only got to see about 20% of the show... it's that large as you know!

I went on Wed afternoon (got wet) and came back all day Friday...

The 3M disc works well but it doesn't last very long and cost $14! I suggest the scotch brite pads (can be found for your big grinder too) due to the low cost and small size...

Re: 68 K-10 SWB build thread - project Money Pit...pics galore!

Try this for your grinding/flap/roloc disc. the clean and strip discs are great! they have everything here for much cheaper than anywhere else, very good stuff to. lasts as long or longer than 3m

that is a smoking deal on 50! I like the 3" with the 2" backing for smoothing the larger areas/sheet metal that way it only takes the weld and less of the sheet around. that way they are not as ridged. like I said it works for me, my buddy who made my gas tank does not like doing that. got to use what works for you!

I just struck a deal for an NOS burb door... I think it's the "NOS" part that makes me spend

not for sale yet since I don't have it in my hands for a few more weeks......
