Re: How about some pics of Static dropped 60-66

I read somewhere on this site or thread the 1.5 coils cut would give you 4 inch drop on a 64-66. doing my 64 tore front end apart and realize the spring have a pocket or are indexed at both ends. to me you could take one coil and it would fit right. how much drop dose that give? I like what I see of 63 & 64 Bowties !.5 cut and chevelle springs in the rear and was thinking something similar as I have some station wagon rear springs w air bags or chevelle springs . help want to cut myfront springs and put front back together next few days. ( also going to belltech shocks for a droped truck ) thanks Joel

so when they cut 1 and a half coil the must index the top and let the bottom be where it comes out ? like what I see of people who cut 1.5 and use jeep or A body rear springs, jus not so sure about the bottom of the spring not being in the pocket or index spot??

I have cut half coils and left the bottom half not indexed and it works fine. From what I can tell the original height coils didn't sit vary well in the bucket to begin with. When I cut full coils I still couldn't get the coil to index that good.

Re: How about some pics of Static dropped 60-66

These trucks look awesome.
I am new to the forum. Just picked up a 1965 C10 and am going to redo the front end, but want to keep the stance I have now. I am guessing 4/6, what do you guys think?

Thanks for any input.

Front:
15x7 smoothie wheels
225/75/15
3 inch drop springs
2.5 inch drop spindles

Rear:
15x7 smoothie wheels
225/75/15
4 inch drop springs

I am not sure how I feel with the rake...might have to use 2 inch drop blocks in the rear.

Great look.
And please don't take this as criticism, it's just something I started noticing lately. And I think it's caused by adding discs in the front which moves the front wheels out. When I go to discs, I'll be using wider wheels in the back, so it may not be noticeable.
