Re: Started my first frame off - 72 SWB LS1, 6-spd manual
I still need to install the wing windows. I'm not sure if I want to attempt to rebuild mine or buy new ones.. It would save me a lot of money to rebuild mine.
Ordered a new shift knob today (F'ing Fast) lol, since I broke mine by over tighting it.

I also stained an extra piece of my cherry wood to see what it would look like. I think I'm going to go with it.

Nyce shifter, beds going to look sweet!
I rebuilt my wing windows, well one of them so far. Not hard just time consuming, soaked mine over night in Evaporust and repainted lower bracket. Protect that paint and take your time.

I finally found the issue with my cam sensor The wires going into the ECM were in the correct locations but going into the plug 2 out of the 3 wires were crossed. It's always something simple lol.

What size hole-saw did you use in the firewall for the engine harness? Did you have any pictures of the completed mounting if ECM/Fuse Box and Vintage Air under the dash? Reading through the VA instructions, it looks like it's going to be TIGHT under there.

Re: Started my first frame off - 72 SWB LS1, 6-spd manual
Yeah, I'm pretty sure you'll have to move all of that. It's pretty tight up there with the VA evaporator unit, mounting brackets and lines. You might get lucky and be able to squeeze something in there, but it would be a PITA to get to if you ever need to replace a relay or chase wires
I used custom fittings, but the plumbing is about the same routing. Here's mine all jammed in there... and a front shot, just for good measure.

Wow, your right that is going to be tight. Thanks for sharing the pictures.. Love the color of your truck. I'm also restoring a 63 VW 2nd owner all original car. The original color is close to your blue. What color is your truck? Thanks.

Re: Started my first frame off - 72 SWB LS1, 6-spd manual
No problem Mark. The truck is actually a factory Medium Blue, code 510. It's just been resprayed in Base/Clear.
I'm sure you'll love the AC once it's installed. I can't imagine going back to no AC in mine now that I have it. Keep up the good work, your truck is turning out great!

Re: Started my first frame off - 72 SWB LS1, 6-spd manual
This weekend I entered my truck in it's first ever Car Show, (the largest show of the year for the Las Vegas area). I was hesitant to do so, because my Truck is not completely finished. My family and I had a great time, and we met a lot of really cool people aka "Truck Enthusiasts"! I totally wasn't expecting to win anything, just excited to show the Truck & what I've finished so far! So when my Truck won; "Super Run 2015 Outstanding Vehicle" award, I was shocked AND proud!!

Thanks Mike... It's really hard to work on it, since I enjoy driving it so much lol. I can't believe how well these LS's run with the great fuel mileage to go with it.

I've had the check engine light coming on. Fixed it with some new knock sensors from GM.

Re: Started my first frame off - 72 SWB LS1, 6-spd manual
I just picked up some new tubular A-arms and sway bar. Hopefully I will get them on this afternoon so I can get the truck aligned this weekend.
