Re: 67 Camaro Build
Thank you Kirk, same here.
We were headed home around this time last year, and I spotted this later model muscle. What caught my eye was the black Utah license plate TYRFRYR. It's the same plate I ran on our 55 Pro Street car. I’ve still got them in the basement somewhere.

Re: 67 Camaro Build
Here’s how the wiring bulkhead turned out with the extra-wide gasket. Covers the wider opening just fine.

Re: 67 Camaro Build
Had an opportunity to borrow a tram gauge from the body shop. Backyard ballparking of the wheelbase, and oh yes, it was off. Focused on the same distance side to side, as well as centering the rear wheels in the opening. If I remember correctly, I did get fairly close to the factory spec. The plan is a 4-wheel alignment on a nice rack with an operator who knows his stuff. We’ll do that once the car is assembled and drivable.

Re: 67 Camaro Build
Next was the heater controller and routing the dash wiring. Also, I’m noticing that the aftermarket dash pad looks a little wavy.

Re: 67 Camaro Build
Snagged and installed an original driver’s side heater duct off eBay. It’s all about making the car as complete as possible even if the heater is rarely used.
I don't like how this dash pad is sitting. A friend purchased one last summer, and it warped terribly after the car sat out in the sun for just a few hours. I'll address this now and skip the possible aggravation later.

Re: 67 Camaro Build
Got to love aftermarket interior parts. Even with having the advantage of a 67 dash pad where it doesnt have to turn and go down the ends like a 68 its still a wobbly mess. My original dash pad in my 68 is still straight as a arrow after all these years.

Re: 67 Camaro Build
Nothing beats OE if you have presentable pieces. Looks great!
Part of the problem with these aftermarket dash pads is almost no metal reinforcement. You tighten the studs and it pulls and distorts the pad. Using large rubber washers between the pad and the dash seems to help. This is much straighter, using some nyloc nuts that are not over torqued I’m hoping will do the trick. We’ll see, still messing at this point.

Re: 67 Camaro Build
Yeah that pad looked terrible before you "dealt" with it. I have an aftermarket for mine too and will look at it to see if it has any reinforcement built in. I just layed it on to test fit the replacement inner/outer cowl and dash top after replacing all those pieces. I do have the original and may yet send it out for rebuild to Just Dashes, but that's out of the budget at this time.

Thanks, at this point I was still messing with it. Good luck with yours.
Bezel and a radio, the dash is slowing getting there.

Re: 67 Camaro Build
Thank you, Scott. I appreciate your kind words. I typically post on Sunday and Wednesday mornings.
I took a quick look at the front carpet right out of the box. Then, right back into the box, I've got a couple of jobs to knock out before it can be installed. I needed to see where the seam would land for the amp and fuel pump controller wiring.

Re: 67 Camaro Build
I decided that under the driver’s seat would be a good spot for the Aeromotive Fuel Pump Controller. This device is designed so that you can adjust the fuel pump speed settings with the turn of a few screws (Set Tach, Min Volts). Allowing the pump to run slower when there is less demand.
FYI, More to come on why I removed and don't recommend this device.

Re: 67 Camaro Build
With the location decided I started building and routing harnesses. The rear fuel pump harness is run inside the car along with the factory rear harness mostly. Here are some pics of it coming through the trunk floor. With a bulkhead installed, and then with the sender (fuel gauge) wire from the factory harness.

Re: 67 Camaro Build
The last place I added Kilmat sound deadening was in the driver’s side foot well and on top of the tunnel. Here are the wiring instructions for the fuel pump controller, and the line loc wiring schematic. I’ll have to route the line loc another way as I ran out of room in my AAW 6 wire bulkhead. This last shot is the custom harness built for the added devices and accessories.

I’m happy to announce that I have finished the car. The actual build is still ahead of the build thread by a few months. And I’ll tell you what, I’m stoked with the results and have lots more to tell. ![]() Grounds! Ha, I hate to pick on a friend (you know who you are) but we can do better! I plan to use the dash brace next to the glove box. Tucking this central ground point up and out of sight. The dang dashpad is what it is after much fuss, moving on.

Re: 67 Camaro Build
Fantastic! We have very different habits. I note nearly every little step I take as I take them on my decades long C10 build, and then disappear for years from my build thread. LOL
Such a beautiful car, but I fear it will bring me - miles away - some heartache as I am now searching for a first gen Camaro! My uncle had a 68 with a 396 in it that he often took us for rides in when we visited Denver from our home in Northeastern Kansas. That car made a huge impact on me and I hope to have a grudge match at a drag strip with my cousin who now owns the Camaro once I finish my truck.

Re: 67 Camaro Build
I don’t know. I think our habits are maybe closer than you think. Noting every step (that’s the building part
), not posting, that’s what got me behind in the first place (take a little break, and life gets in the way). Thank you for the compliment Scott, good luck with your search and the grudge match. There has been more firewall progress (the last of the blue tape is gone). There has also been dash progress: the instrument cluster, switches, gauges, and all the doodads are going in.

Re: 67 Camaro Build
Since I never know what size worm clamp is needed for a column mounted tach, I decided to document what I used here. Wrapped the column with non-adhesive wire harness tape and trimmed the clamp a little just for aesthetics. Here’s the central dash ground post idea I mentioned earlier.

Re: 67 Camaro Build
The master cylinder and female side of the AAW bulkhead are going in. The bulkhead placement is very close to the brake line if I’m trying to use a disc brake hold-off valve. My research found it’s not a necessary manual brake component, so I'm leaving it out for now.
Added the gauge lights and ran the tach wires through a tube with shrink wrap for a cleaner install.
