That's what they did. He posted the truck a few days ago on FB to a closed group & said he would be going.

So it's a nice 21C in the shop, outside is 32C and 40 with humidity. Gotta love A/C. A good day to get the block honed for the new rings and I honed the lifter holes because of scrapes from the bad lifters.

Putzed around a bit. Greased the clutch linkage...it was getting pretty bad. Then put in new plugs and wires.

Fixed my exhaust leak! Replacement exhaust manifold didn't quite match up with the pipe, so I had to get aggressive with it. But now I can drive without fear of passing out at the wheel!

Upgrading the factory breather from 2bbl 380cfm to 4bbl 600cfm+ but still looks good.

Very nice!

I have been looking for a horn for my offset air cleaner, but cannot find one.

Thanks it is hard to find them, I was lucky enough to have a good friend out in Edmonton, AB. Cunuckvetter and he took one off an old factory 2bbl. It keeps my look.

I took my smoker to the cottage so I have no distractions. I gotta get the truck running. I did get all the frost plugs in, all the pistons cleaned and re-ringed. One good final block cleaning tomorrow and fill it with parts.

My knob on the column shift was missing so I made a new one . Grabbed a piece of black walnut from the wood pile . Cut a hunk out and shaped it up.

Looks great but now you're going to have to add walnut accents to the whole interior.

There might be a market for custom wood knobs? When I did my 38 I didn't like the little knob that came with the car (floor shift) so I wound up using the clear plastic knob off of the shower I took out. Of course I used the cold knob with the C for Chevy. Have a good one.

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II

Took six boxes of guck to the household hazardous waste roundup this morning. Just about rid of all the old paint and such from my FiL's garage. We had to clean it out when we rented the place. Paint marked "10-04"; my, what a fine can of crud. About 4 gallons of quart cans, and a whole bunch of spray paint cans that don't spray. Also finally got rid of the last three gallons of "syrup" from the saddle tanks on my truck. Been putting it off; it's just been sitting there in the can for about 2 years. It was crap when I drained it! Just got busy...
