Got the newly rebuilt radiator(thanks to C.R.S. $65 to seal tanks and rod out and repaint) filled it up with water and good thing after pressure built the weep hole in water pump wants show me it works. Got new pump in and he is running cool and no leaks. Next project cut the springs and open the pipes. Re: What did you do to your truck today?
Today I had intentions of upgrading to an HEI distributor. After much debate I dropped some cash on a Skip White dizzy. I went to Napa and picked up 65 vette 80mm plug wires. Checked current timing and it was set by the PO at 0 degree advance- no womder it ran like a dog (283). Verified the vacuum advance at different Rpms and determined it was all in at 16 degrees at around 2800 Rpms. Started to route the new plug wires and determtermined that wires 3&4 were way to short, back to nappy and same PN but correct lengths! but I had to raise the engine off the mounts to get clearance for the new fatter wires. I also spliced into the pink wire from the ignition to provide 12v to the new dizz. After hooking up the new skip white dizzy the truck had a hard time idling- even at 0 degrees and up to eight- it just wouldn't run. Acted retarded. Give it any vacuum FORGET ABOUT IT!!! It would die and usually ended in a poof of exhaust through the carb. Tried another coil(MSD) and it seemed to run worse... Verified plug wires to no avail. I eventually went back to the old points Delco Remey Dizzy and it purred like a kitten. Advanced timing to a total timing of 32- could advanced a more I think but for now it's much better. Gonna call skippy blanco tomorrow and have them send me a new dizzy cause I'm pretty sure something is a wry with this one. Eight hours later...

Re: What did you do to your truck today?
After tons of scraping, wire brushing, power washing and repeating all steps several times, I got the front frame and suspension all painted.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?
It's kp components. As soon as my buddy gets his plasma cutter back from the shop, the bottom piece can go in then final welding. Once it's done, we can start on the 4 link, while I am waiting for my dropmember and control arms!

Re: What did you do to your truck today?
Well the weather is finally starting to dry out and I can get started on the truck. I have decided to get the Rhino done and the paint on it and next year when I get another tax return the motor and trans and new wheels.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?
Got tired of the terrible lighting. Swapped out the incandescent sealed beams for some Ecode H4 lenses. These ones I fitted also have city lights built in. Think it makes it look super classy!
