Seriously? Figured you'd made a typo on the price.

Re: Post Your Craigslist Finds
How many times now have we heard on this forum when someone states that Barrett Jackson has ruined the hobby that "it's worth what someone will pay for it"? I disagree. Hobbyists are being priced out of the hobby. I have to admit, it bothers me a little bit. Quite frankly, I wish these old trucks would not have caught fire like they have - there were plenty of aftermarket parts sources (a market indicator of popularity) around before the price insanity started too, so that argument doesn't really hold water anymore either. But there's nothing I can do about it. If you're lucky and already have your swb big block, you're sittin pretty. But if you've dreamed of owning one - the pricing reality is outpacing most hobbyists' rate of savings. Nice truck, no doubt, but I wouldn't go a hair over $110K without the correct hubcaps...

Re: Post Your Craigslist Finds
Shouldn't we expect that for that price, and less than $50 additionally spent, that the CST truck would at least have the correct deluxe pedal trim?

Re: Post Your Craigslist Finds
It’s the reality of where we are on these trucks
They, are bought up Jocko used to post 4-5 good deals a day There are not a lot of original’s left I’m sure Jocko is still on the lookout That blue cst is a nicely restored truck But without a spid I always believe it is a built fake Good luck on the price Here is another high priced one But at least we know it is real https://www.ebay.com/itm/1972-Chevro...sAAOSwdb5dt0HG |

Re: Post Your Craigslist Finds
$110k? I get willing buyer/willing seller (and let the market be the final arbiter) but that money will buy you a nice fuel injected C1/C2 with provenance/documentation and a NCRS cert (more or less).

Re: Post Your Craigslist Finds
You would think with a no expense spared resto they could have at least put the correct gas line on it..and wonder why they put new bedsides on....probably a long bed truck

Re: Post Your Craigslist Finds
He's probably just trying to get PART of his restoration cost back.

Re: Post Your Craigslist Finds
Don't get me wrong. I don't think a resto should cost that, but I hear stories often about a vehicle that went into a shop and came out a financial nightmare.
As far as hubcaps, emblems, fluid lines etc., a lot of the people restoring these things are just getting them ready for the internet.

Re: Post Your Craigslist Finds
I’d say it’s definitely the Barrett Jackson inflation on full display. These trucks are really hot right now and a lot of car guys with money are doing what they always do and are buying into the latest thing to show their buddies. The only real drawbacks are many of them are far guys by wallet only and couldn’t confer their own oil let alone anything real mechanically. This puts a lot of real car people at a disadvantage because they get priced out of the hobby for the auto they really want.
Saddens me because of another thing I saw last night. What looked like a nice 67 short step side in Arizona blown apart to be sold as pieces to get the most money. Not illegal but hurts my soul to see it.
