Re: my 65 fleetside build
congrats on the totm, jeff!
you deserve it, your truck inspires me to get to work on mine! still cant wait for the burnout video, and to see the lil blue bottle wake that motor up, lol!! i agree that i like staying old school with the motor, but its hard not to think what a 5.3l motor with a carb and intake and cam would did also! i've been noticing that it dont take much to wake them up also, once again congrats on the totm!!

Just saw that a Facebook friend "liked" a photo of your truck posted on Roadkill Customs' page. Here's the link:

Re: my 65 fleetside build
Dude!!!!
Your dash, it looks simply Spectacular!!! Better than mine I think! But I am pretty sure that the second & third set SHOULD turn out better ,simply due to experience! ...I hope that none of the knobs fall off at launch! Ha-Ha! I am very pleased with the way that they look in your truck! Did you ever get that blue bottle? ...I got one sitting right here for mine, but it may be a bit before I use it. I am hoping that you are getting it dialed-in, and have a great day at the show & go!

Re: my 65 fleetside build
Man that really does look super good !!
Did you have to clear coat the aluminum to keep it from tarnishing or anything? My buddy is making some Airborne and Air Assault badges and said I could have a set but I would have to clear coat them.

The dash looks amazing. A race on Saturday sounds fun. As long as i haven't floated away by then. Is your brother bringing out his '68 also? I will do my best to make it. Thanks for the heads up.

Re: my 65 fleetside build
Your comment"thanks alan, yeah i have been busy just not making alot of headway, after looking at the drivers door i found a low place i wasnt happy with a all so i took it back off and i have it ready to re-spray now, then while installing my door glass in the passenger side it slipped from my hands and knocked a small dent from the inside- out so now i get to re-do the bottom half of the passenger door as well. i did get my vacuum gauge installed in the dash but unfortuntly knocked the camera off the work bench and broke it, so now i am just waiting for the garage roof to fall in and get it over with some people were born lucky instead of good looking but i got rooked on both ends"
Flip, you have the same luck as I do. A lot has to do with working alone, 2 hands make it so much less stressful on the delicate jobs. So sorry to hear about that day, those are the days you wish you hadn't got out of bed. Also the day you hopefully learned not to say "Well, it can't get any worse" because it always can. That's as far as I've read so far but I have to say your truck looks Flippin awesome!!!!! Fantastic craftsmanship! I wish I could be 1/4 as talented as you! I used to do all my own work, now due to my back I farm out the engine, trans., but I still try to do the rest of it myself. The last couple paintjobs I did didn't come out as good as I'm used too so I'm kinda nervous on that...but those were motorcycles and I didn't have a spray-booth...we'll see. Ok I'm going back to reading! ..
