Im appauld (think that means offended. LOL) that you would think I would purposely make your truck look like the ocean. I figured Id help you and learn on the way. Also like the rest of us, we have given up on the color, we will see it when its done.

Re: Kabwe's aka Bam's build
trucks looks awesome. I just read through your thread. I am hoping to be starting on a 57 pick-up my father and i started back in '92. Alot of progression has been made since back then. I want to do the mustang II front clip as well. Was it fairly easy to set-up? looking to drop an LS1 in my truck so looking for info on oil pan clearances on the new crossmember.

Hello Blue57, Welcome to the site and its always nice to have another truck guy on board, especially another Cali guy. The Mustang II is a really easy install if you can use a tape measure and can weld its a piece of cake.lol As far as the LS engine and the oil pan I have 2003 5.3 and I used a Camaro/Firebird LS oil pan, pickup Tube, wingtray, and dipstick. I hope that helps. |

I got mine from the Car and Truck shop in Orange, CA http://www.truckandcarshop.com/ they were the cheapest I've seen. I paid 265 per side for them. They are decent but nothing like the original. The fitment is fine but I think the use a different method of checking metal thickness today because there is no way they are the same gauge thickness.lol I have a lot of buddies (Vdog for one) who hate the Car and Truck Shop because they are kind of rude. I've never had an issue, but than again I really don't care unless they don't have the part I need then I get salty.lol LOL. You are nuts.lol That was good for a laugh. Re: Kabwe's aka Bam's build
Kawbe when you originally started your build you had planned for a 59 front clip and installed your front mustang II crossmember according to that spec. Did you have to alter that when you decided to install the front 55 clip instead?

Re: Kabwe's aka Bam's build
Thanks it was also my b-day so it turned out nice. I hope you had a great one also. A floor shift column is pretty easy. I did a flaming river column back on post #212. A column shift is a little more involved but I did a GMvan column shift and they are a pain. I can't image that the ididit column is as difficult as a GM column.

Re: Kabwe's aka Bam's build
Thanks old man. Happy Birthday. Hope you got some time to work on the truck today. I will check out #212. Maybe I will wait for a flaming river. I like the stainless version that Ididit does not offer.

Re: Kabwe's aka Bam's build
Hey, that does look easy. I watched a video that "how its made" did on IDIDIT, and they do not have a D shaft that goes all the way up. They make the D just at the end. I guess I will forget this for now.

Re: Kabwe's aka Bam's build
Hey Bam, i think i remember you saying you had aftermarket outer door skins, but yo made your own? If that's correct, what was the issue with the aftermarket ones? If that's not correct well then i am just crazy....
