Oh I meant along with a spid pic, the truck could be included to see how far it has or hasn't been changed in the last 50 some years

Re: SPID Picture thread?

I will take a decent picture of the old boy and upload it so that you guys can see it. Then you can see what has been done to it. Someone changed the original color to Matt black and I want to change it back to the original color combination one day.

Re: SPID Picture thread?

Is anyone remaking SPID tags? My truck is getting ready for paint and someone had painted the inside of the door black so I will mask off but not always confident the masking will work.

Contact Jeff (Jeff@outintheshop.com) I just had him do one for me, and it's an exact duplication of the original. He does great work.

Re: SPID Picture thread?

This is a claimed 40k original mile truck I saw for sale.
Don’t believe I’ve seen a 5.14 rear diff listed on a fairly light duty (3/4 ton) pickup before. Could be they quickly tired of driving 40 on the hiway and parked it with so few miles 🤓

Re: SPID Picture thread?

Ok SPID experts- this is a truck I’m looking at getting.
I’m working off texted pictures so far, haven’t seen it in person yet but was trying to sort out exactly how it would’ve been.
—-I think with the 396, the auto trans would be a th400. What would the standard rear gear be with nothing specifically listed.
—-it’s listed as white/olive green. Is that a white top with green body. White body with green interior or ?
—-Anything else special you see on here that I should take note of?
Thanks Greg

Re: SPID Picture thread?

White with a black interior. Done. I can just see the salesman's face. "Nope, no power steering, no automatic transmission, no tinted windows, no AC, etc,...) I just want a white truck with a black interior".

Could well have been a year-end case where stuff just got put in however the materials were left over.

Then again, it's painful to watch AM/FM/CB radios and Firebird honeycomb alloy wheels getting the sledgehammer before being thrown in the dumpsters for recycling at the end of a model year.

Mine is loaded compared to yours. I have one option since the heater doesn't count on the 67's

Re: SPID Picture thread?

Been through this entire thread refining the contents of this 71 Cheyenne's SPID but am having trouble with some of the suffixes. I think I'm doing pretty good with what I am working with; the tire suffixes are very hard to read and the ammeter-oil-temp I'm not sure on the suffix either. Would the suffix indicate a tach cluster or is the tach alway listed separately? Any help or expert knowledge here would be greatly appreciated before I have this reproduced.

Re: SPID Picture thread?

I purchased this in a CL lot buy, the seller said this was the best piece. My question is, was there a LS9 350 offered in a K20 with a 4 speed? Was there ever a LS9 small block 350 option then? Thanks in advance!

Re: SPID Picture thread?

Yes sir, LS9 was the option code for a 350 4 bbl engine in a 1972 truck.

Re: SPID Picture thread?

Didn't look at the one above first, it has it but with more letters, all the research I have seen with an LS9 are the 1998 and newer engines.

That's because the RPOs get reused. You have to find the codes from the same timeframe as the model year of interest.

For example: The LS6 that I know and love was a 1970 450HP 454 big block.

I was on a powertrain road trip where the pickups were equipped with GenIII LS6 small block engines.

They almost kicked me off the trip when I referred to them as a "weenie small block".
