Re: 85 burb meets 6.0 lq4
Very cool. What ratio do you have now? You're just replacing the R&P and putting in the LSD right?

Re: 85 burb meets 6.0 lq4
No real updates but did take him off roading and fishing today with my brother. He tryed out his locker and new km2 tires and mostliky blew his motor up on way there. Good thing he has a engine being built. Mine ran great. Buddy has no trouble spinning all tires. I had both front tires and atleat one rear spinning. Not even half throttle. Kinda weak 4x4ing but was fun. We were going to go to gilmer soon but with his motor broken looks like it will be a while..

Re: 85 burb meets 6.0 lq4
So i have the date set up for the rear end install. I will drop it off sunday afternoon and he will do work on monday and i can pick it up monday night. I am supplying the gears, install kit, carrier and he is supplying the oil, wheel seals, and wheel bearings. He is charging me a tad more then 450. Is that a ok deal? It was 3 something tell he priced the wheelseals and bearings.

Re: 85 burb meets 6.0 lq4
Sounds good to me. I got quoted $1500 for front and rear r&p, I supply all parts including bearings, seals etc. I won't be using that shop...

Re: 85 burb meets 6.0 lq4
Ok i dont feel bad then. I just want it to work and last a long time. I would maybe try the front my self but deff not the rear. It is used every time i turn burb on and go somewere. So i will be compleating the last one tire fire tomorrow to signify the end of his one legged ness. Cant wait to TEST the new one out....

Re: 85 burb meets 6.0 lq4
Well i got my burb back from rear end shop today.........I have failed myself. I told my brother 98 time befor he ordered his gear set to check the ratio..... So i should practice what i tell him sometime. As it turns out i hade 3.73 gears in my truck. The set i ordered are 410. The diff shop did not think to look at what set i had in it cause i got the parts my self. So it looks like i will be getting thr front done sooner then i had thought. FAIL!

Ah the accidental upgrade, I love that! I bet those 4.10's will feel great with the way your rig is set up.

Re: 85 burb meets 6.0 lq4
It deff feels different. I have on more heat cycle tell i will get on it. I am sure it will be faster. I am not sure if the gear change will help my speedo. Befor it said 55 and i was actually doing 65. That was with 373. Now it has 410 gear. Would that help my speedo or make it more off. I am thinking it would help right?

Re: 85 burb meets 6.0 lq4
Well i took buddy for his first long drive with new rearend. My speedo is exactly the same as my gps. It is dead on at 35-65. Befor and after the gps and speedo disagree a tad. It also drives way better the befor. Has more power runs smoother around town due to rpm be a little higher. 65 mph is a little under 1900 rpm. I love the new set up. It spins both tires if i "power break" or stall test or what ever you call it. Deff have some wheel hop now. But overall it is perfict.

Re: 85 burb meets 6.0 lq4
So the hole time i have had the new motor in the truck i have had a slight issue i have not messed with. Some times in or out of gear you can hear the fuel pump change it humm and then the motor bogs down to like 200 rpm. I am not sure if it did it with old motor but i dont think so. It will idle great then just bog down to 200 and come right back up to 750. It did it with efi and with carb. It has never died. I dont think it would be trans related cause it does it in gear and in N. Any ideas?

Re: 85 burb meets 6.0 lq4
wow that's a tough one...since you changed the fuel system completely. I'm guessing it has a different line and fuel filter then before too? If so...the only constant is your gas tank. Any chance of contamination?
Any chance the MSD is causing it?

Re: 85 burb meets 6.0 lq4
It is a different filter but same line. I have one of those see threw glass filters infornt of my pump and it is clean. I dont think my tank is contaminated. It has seen many many many gallons of fuel threw it and gotten faily low a few times with no change. It is like something is draging the alt down or something. Cause if it were fuel i dont think it would have affected the carb right at the same time the fuel pump starts to get loud. Cause of the resurve in the bowl. I can tell you exactly how far i can go on a float bowl full of fuel. I used to for get to turn my fuel pump on some times after sitting at work waiting for the gate to be opened.
