My tank is a poly tank, but I am not sure who makes it, or where to purchase one like it.....I did already widen the rear wheel tubs!!!
But you are right, I rushed this a bit, and really should have done a big back window conversion, I can do that when I get bored with it in a few years. LOL!

I have soooooo many things to do yet that I don't even consider myself as being close to finished!!!!
This truck will always remain a work in progress...I still have exhaust, interior, bed-wood, air-conditioning, and the list goes on and on!

But I did pull the trigger on my wheels yesterday with Travis at Pro-Performance, and they will be sick!!!!
I think that I will let everyone hang in suspense like me while they get built...
In six weeks we'll see them!...and hopefully we will be in awe!

Not much going on with my end lately.
I sent my hood hinges out to get black-oxide dipped, and they look killer!
I didn't really want to paint them because I figured that they would chip, and look like crap almost instantly.
At work, we send stuff out for oxide daily, so I thought what the heck?
When they came back, I washed them down with wax & grease remover, and sprayed them with VHT hi-temp clear.
I think that they look awesome, and if the clear chips, they are still black!
(For those of you that don't know what black-oxide is, it is like the blueing on a gun) Here's a few pics!

Also, I kinda wrapped-up my windshield wiper/washer hoses/cowl grill set-up.
Gotta finalize all of the small details!





The wiper grill work had a tendency to rattle, so I applied weatherstrip adhesive to both the tabs, & the slots that they fit into, and now they fit securely, no rattles!!!





Oh! I also got a chance to back the truck outside with the bed on to see what it looks like!...But like a dummy, I forgot to let it down to ride height before taking these pics. I had to air it up to get it off the wheel dollies...

I want to black oxide dip my hood hinges as well. I called few places in L.A. for a price and I about choked. They acted like they weren't interested in doing them because it was such a small job.

Years ago, a company called Palmetto Industries used to sell a home kit where you heated the oxide solution over a camp stove, and back when I was into 1st Gen Camaros it was all the rage. I think they're out of business now, but I found another company that might have what we need:

Don, it worked out great, as soon as it set-up you could tell that it was all good!
A metal finishing company (plating) should have these services...I was originally looking for black-phosphate coating....That is what the factory does!

Murph! I used the OEM squirters, but blasted & painted them!

Seems kinda pricey for the materials unless you have a lot to do.
We send stuff every day to the source that we use, and they only charge $20 per lot...

The grill & headlight bezels are brand new pieces from Brothers.

if I remember right the poly tank is for 67-72 blazers, I just ordered the 60-66 suburban sending unit! had to trim the lock ring for the sending unit to work! then ordered tanks straps from brothers, all stuff I still got to put on the truck soon!

I'm just working on boxing in the c-notch and doing the bearings, seals, and new wheel studs to get the rearend all done now!

Not much to post from me lately.
I have been helping my dad work to re-vamp a few things on my brother's never-ending Jeep project...Trying to turn it around quick, so that it is not in our way!
I started to get my hood ready to install by adding heat/sound insulation, and installing the parking lamps & wire harness.
The main reason for the insulation was to hide some imperfections in the hood's condition, as I didn't fix all of the dents on the inside of the hood that I had fixed on the outside.
The insulation was purchased from Softseal and has a cotton back with a foil type face.
The legs & carriage bolts were items that I added for storage purposes, so that the paint will never touch anything while in storage.

Oh, I also got a chance to install my glovebox liner & door!

I have been ready for a while!...The ride height will be lower than pictured, I had to air it up in order to get it off from the hoist, but forgot to let it back down out before taking pics!

The PO kinda did a hack job on this.
Not only did he put the tank in backwards, but mangled the retaining ring for the pump/sending unit...I had to re-make.
All is good now though!

My main goal was to make sure that no-matter how it was stored, it wouldn't touch the paint.
The dash doesn't look as great as your dash, but I am not finished working on it yet. LOL!
I really loved looking at the pics of your dash with the sweet billet knobs. LOL!!

Hey guys!
I didn't get a lot accomplished this past weekend, but a few of the items were pretty monumental to me!
I started out by installing my freshly tinted rear window into my cab.
(that is yours truly installing the locking strip into the weatherstrip!)



This was the last piece of glass needed to enclose my cab from the outside world!....Which led me to the next milestone....To wash this dirty thing!
My baby got it's first bath!!!!



I can't even start to express how good that it looks with no dust on it!!!
These are just cell phone pics, and do absolutely NO justice to how good it looks, and it still needs to be sanded & rubbed!

Oh, I almost forgot to say, I took the box over to the painter!!!!
We are gonna do the final prep-work this weekend, and hopefully paint it next week if temp & humidity allows!!!
