Re: Project "My Happy Mess"

They started making those extremely large tubes for the rednecks that want to make gaskets for every thing. J/K It's to cut costs and note have to buy 10 small tubes at $4.99 or higher.

Ya. I'm active duty. Holding on to multiple vehicles with the frequency we move AND being single is pretty challenging.

Re: Project "My Happy Mess"

Both of our trucks have wood beds - once you run the braces across you'll notice it isn't really twisted. It's just how they were engineered. You'll see it on every truck of ours (if the bed has been removed). It's normal. The support beam you are seeing as twisted is tricking you. One side of that support is attached further up on the frame than the other side, thus giving the illusion of being twisted.

Re: Project "My Happy Mess"

Thanks Bomp , glad you found it useful (ignoring the bickering posts and minor misinformation).
Hopefully we'll get to paint soon. Been too much life going on, and it's damn cold here now.
There's only very minor body work needed for the fenders, prime the bedsides and hood, then paint. Not much.

Ok, good deal. I was afraid I ended up with a lemon there for awhile.

Thanks Jim, The Fixer may have landed a new full time job so things may take a little while longer to get going. His last words were "before spring", we'll see

Re: Project "My Happy Mess"

Thanks gdavis and Elco! The Fixer got the job He's now a Fixer (Engineer) for a large corp. The shop is pretty much done, I finished the bench - don't think I posted pics of it (or did I? I forget). Still need to afix the shelves to the wall and need some necessities (air comp., etc...). Moved The Fixer's racecar (Vega ) into it for winter storage.

Re: Project "My Happy Mess"

Hey Ryan, it's been a while. I wouldn't mind going to GG but I'm not sure we'll be finished by then. My brother shot the kicker panels today. Tomorrow we'll tape up the door jambs and shoot paint next week. There's a lot left to paint.

Keep at it, no sense rushing it to make GG's. At least it's getting painted. I bet it'll look awesome! How are you enjoying your garage?
