Re: 75 Dually build
I did a bunch of small jobs cleaning up the parts I have already wrapped. However I did get to install the new marker lights. Shinny!

That looks really nice. You are doing nice work. It definitely looks like you have to have a lot of patience too.

Looks killer, I'm surprised how deep and glossy the vinyl looks. Hope to see it at LST!!

I have been saying the same thing. Do they have a "Best entry arriving on a Roll back"award?

Re: 75 Dually build
So in typical West Texas fashion the weather today was 90 degrees, and tomorrow we are expecting a winter storm!
So I busted a hump today getting the truck in primer. I will have to wet sand the roof, and a couple of small spots, but it is now really coming along. I also got the rear panel covered today. In that pic you can see some wrinkles at the very top, don't worry about those because they will be under the stainless rear cab wrap around trim. You can also see in that shot where I used the knifeless tape on the outer edge. Man that stuff is amazing! I still have a couple of air bubbles to chase down, but it is maybe 2 to 3 of them. Let me tell you this panel was no fun at all. I still have to finish the bottom, but that is for tomorrow! Stay tuned! |

Re: 75 Dually build
Can you just take care of tje air bubbles you are chasing with a pin? That's how we used to do it with vinyl graphics.

Re: 75 Dually build
Y'all know how much I like to sand, if you don't let me tell you... So tonight I got half of the roof wet sanded (the hard part, the very middle!), and I got the complete hood done too. I will get the rest of the truck wet sanded early this week and then I will start the wrapping process. I wanted the truck as mirror smooth as possible in order to give the best possible finish for the wrap.
Stay tuned! |

Re: 75 Dually build
LST Crunch! The pain is real!!
So tonight I got the whole passenger side and most of the roof wet sanded. Tomorrow is the drivers side. No slacking at this point. Every hour counts! Stay tuned |

Re: 75 Dually build
Very cool truck and interesting build. While not my taste I respect the build quality. I like the vinyl wrap idea, although I don't imagine it is a first timer type job. Hopefully soon I will have a dually build as well, but it will not be lowered it just isn't my style. I have a question though can this truck still haul like a stock one other than the bed? You never know I could be swayed. I'm looking forward to the finished outcome. I love the color combo.

About the towing ability. If you boil down all the negativity about lowered trucks we are basically using a stock (for the most part) type of suspension. Airbags are not a limiting factor, in fact that is what most Semi trucks use everyday. Other than the bed you mentioned above the pulling ability of my truck is about the same as a stock truck. Mine has one advantage in that it has Accuride air suspension controller, which when an increased load is placed on the truck and the suspension squats down this system reacts instantly by increasing or decreasing the air pressure and keeping the truck at the preferred ride height. Bagged trucks tow all the time, and actually can ride, if setup correctly, better than a stock truck. I hope that helps. Build a slammed dually! Last edited by 75Dually; 02-14-2017 at 04:28 PM. |

Re: 75 Dually build
Boss don't make me sand no more!
The drivers side is done! One little spot on the lower part of the front fender. I laid down some filler, and I will wet sand it out tomorrow. You know you go over these panels hundreds of time, and you will still miss something! ARG! Oh well... Such is life... Tomorrow the wrapping begins! Most likely I am going to start with the roof and work my way down. Stay tuned! |
