Re: Lurker OrrieG Progress Pics
Looks good Orrie , If that bump bothers you you can maybe router an oval shape hole in wood like a puck, then heat the ABS plastic with a heat gun so it conforms to the wood puck shape just a thought. Try on scrape plastic first.
P.S. I have always looked forward to your great ideas!

Re: Lurker OrrieG Progress Pics
Doesn't look like much, but got the backing for the back cab upolstery done. Had it in and out probably 4 times. Goal was to have no exposed fasteners except at the bottom, but relatively easy to remove without destroying the fabric. I also included a shot of the fabric I am going to use. It is for commercial uses like school seating, airports, high use conference room and office chairs. Comes with scotch gard on streriods blended into the threads for easy cleaning.

Re: Lurker OrrieG Progress Pics
OrrieG, I take it the center piece is by itself and the two curved pieces are separate. I like the look of the material, nice and tight...Jim

Re: Lurker OrrieG Progress Pics
Yes, the curves are separate, connected to the center frame. The center panel is the last piece that goes in. It will be help in place with 5 screws at the bottom, woodworking angled connection at the top. Eventually the corners will get speakers, but I decided to get it finished and can add the speaker boxes in the future. I will wire for them. I'll take some step by step install pics when I put on the fabric and reinstall the panels.

Re: Lurker OrrieG Progress Pics
Looks nice, Do you have to do the upholstery in three panels to get the corners in and out?

Re: Lurker OrrieG Progress Pics
Yes, planned it that way. May also do the center piece in three sections to break it up.

Re: Lurker OrrieG Progress Pics
Thanks, it will match the exterior color. Today I made the bracket for the fuse box. Used the extended hinge bolt and another existing hold in the brace under the gauges to hold it off the firewall for wiring clearance. When I install the fuse panel I will add a piece of split hose in case any wires come in contact with the bracket.

Re: Lurker OrrieG Progress Pics
Decided I was over thinking the ac hose situation. Got some rubber grommets and warmed up the hole drill for the weekend. Cleaned up the used VA unit and got it painted. Used SEM paint for vinyl to match the steering column and leather seats.
Friday taking off and going to the junk yard to get a gas door, look at mirrors and maybe some arm rests and visors. Also scoping small running lights to use a back up light. Sunday going to paint the steering wheel and other misc parts. Was going to do it over labor day weekend but two clients called on Friday with emergencies so I worked Saturday and Sunday and charged emergency/screw up my weekend prices!

Re: Lurker OrrieG Progress Pics
Your truck is coming along nicely. I have a question, in the "What did you do with your Truck today" thread, you posted pictures of what you got for $45 at the salvage yard. The windshield washer bottle/pump looked like it would be perfect for my 1966 GTO restomod that I am finishing up. Do you remember what car/truck that bottle came from? Thanks again.

Re: Lurker OrrieG Progress Pics
Here is the rest of the junk yard score info. I wanted a round filler door with remote, mid 90's Plymouth, Dodge and Chrysler mini vans have them. Ended up cutting most of it out by hand, electric saw would not keep a long charge and the yard does not allow air or gas grinders because of fire danger. I got all of the assembly except for the center part of the pull cable, but Orge confirmed it is just a bicycle cable. It had a couple of concealed clips I could not get to because of tool shortage and 4 hours in 95 degree heat.
Visors are out of 2003 volvo XC70 and come with power light mirrors! Arm rests are out of an Iszsu Trooper, 4 door. I got the back seat door units, no wear at all. It was hard to find just plain bolt to the door rest, most are molded into the door panel or large sweeping affairs. I also got a light switch out of a 75 AMC Jeep postal van. simple two station one I will use as override switch for back up and cargo/bed lights.
