Re: Mesquite 1966 C10 - LS3 W/Air Ride
This is a different bumper than the truck had, am I missing something here?
Big gap of nothing between bumper and tailgate.

Re: Mesquite 1966 C10 - LS3 W/Air Ride
Love the carbon trim, looks awesome. Not sure about the bumper gap, mine looks the same way and never knew there were trim pieces to fill that gap.
Engine looks amazing. Quick question on the FRP. What are you running off of the fuel pressure port? Is it a digital gauge and that is the sending unit part? |

Re: Mesquite 1966 C10 - LS3 W/Air Ride
Thanks Johnny!
I like the carbon as well, it's not for everyone and you don't see that much on these trucks but I think it looks cool, and when I'm tired of it it's easy to change. Yes that is the sending unit for a Dakota Digital Gauge Quote:

Re: Mesquite 1966 C10 - LS3 W/Air Ride
You probably already know this, but make sure you set your fuel pressure with the vacuum disconnected from the FPR.

Re: Mesquite 1966 C10 - LS3 W/Air Ride
For your tuning purposes do you see an advantage to having the fuel pressure readout inside the cab? I planned on just hanging a gauge right off the FRP under the hood, but may reconsider if there is something I hadn't thought of.

Re: Mesquite 1966 C10 - LS3 W/Air Ride
I don't know of anything it will help with during tuning as the tuning program will show fuel pressure during tuning.
To be honest, my dad had drilled 2 - 2" holes for gauges years ago, those gauges are now taken care of by the Dakota Digital gauges. So I had to come up with two more gauges or fill the holes. I put a time, outside temp gauge in and a fuel pressure gauge. You can see them to the left of the main gauges:

Re: Mesquite 1966 C10 - LS3 W/Air Ride
Got some more shop time in:
All the A/C plumbing is complete, have to put supercharger heat exchanger on the inside, no room on the front: Had to switch the fan to a pusher: Some more test fitting:

Re: Mesquite 1966 C10 - LS3 W/Air Ride
Oh the shop gremlins have struck again, some time between when the below picture was taken and now the brackets at the bottom of the cab that bolt to the bottom of the front fenders have gone AOL!!
So I am in search of 2 if anyone has a spare pair? Thanks,

Re: Mesquite 1966 C10 - LS3 W/Air Ride
Had a good day in the shop, still lots of work left, exterior trim on doors and front fender, get her running again, interior and electrical are left.
This was a proud day and a long long long time coming:
