Re: Project 78 High Sierra
Yeah man, it SUCKED. Lots of cussing going on. They were the bolts that were inside the bumper that held the bumper to the bracket. I couldn't get an angle grinder in there, so I busted out the dremel and the tiny cut off discs. I couldn't get to the bolt stems, so I hit the nuts with the dremel. Finally came apart though.

Re: Project 78 High Sierra
OK I think I know the answer to this because it seems like the most logical answer but ill ask anyway.... I bolted my bed back up tonight and the lines are all sorts of messed up.... The bed lines are too high on the drivers side and slightly lower on the passenger side to match up to the cab.... Replacing the rear cab bushing might of done this and i tightened them with my impact until they wouldnt anymore....So does that mean I probably tightened them too much or un-evenly???
Thats what i think because the bed is on the frame with no additional things underneath it....Allthough the rear bumper needs to be adjusted a bit as its lower on the passenger side

Re: Project 78 High Sierra
Put a level across the top of the front bed rail, and this will tell you if the bed or the cab is uneven. I was replacing the bushings on my radiator support, and the fenders wouldn't line up, and I had the wrong bushings in there ,lol. Idk what kind of instructions came with your set, but mine sucked and didn't say anything about what went where. If your bed is out of level, you could use washers to shim it. If its the cab, you might have something else goin on.

Re: Project 78 High Sierra
Its not uncommon to have to shim (add washers) the cab to match the bed when replacing the cab bushings..

Re: Project 78 High Sierra
FRUSTRATION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So i ws determined to get the truck in running condition for sat so today goal was to reinstall the tail lights....Tested brakes and running light then blinkers.....Passenger side would work but driver side would just turn off the running light and not blink!!!! WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I think i figured it out....The hacked in trailer wiring is using butt connectors at the connection point..They were all wrapped together so i unwrapped them and bent each in a different direction...Put the rear light wire back together and everything seems to work but thats it...Nothing else has been done as i now need to either wrap them with electrical wire separately or re-wire the trailer wire all together....ERG ERG ERG ERG...So basically i accomplished nothing for the last 2 hours other then running my batt dead and having to jump the truck twice

Success!! All lights are now working...Re-Installed the gauge cluster, dashpad, bezel, and readjusted the throttle cable AGAIN!!! UGH.....lol Also removed the second spring as it was making it too hard to push the pedal....Much better now.....Drove her around a few million times to get her just right....LOL

Re: Project 78 High Sierra
Ordered a new throttle bracket that should prevent my throttle bracket from getting loose. Also ordered some more wiring to work on the cluster as the last set I had issues with pulling pins loose but i ordered a auto wire stripper to prevent that from happening as well.. So soon back to doing some crazy wiring o yeah!!! lol
