Re: The Project Havoc....
i had bought a 1 terrabite ethernet hdd but lost the password/code for it after loading all my other drives on it and erased them ................ about half a terrabite of music pictures and documents and no possible way of retrieving it as the machine codes it ontoo the drives differently so it can't be hacked or recovered even if you hook up the drives to a computer
best way to safe stuff is load it ontoo dvd or cd roms a second option is to upload it to places like photobucket or dropbox , both are free , i was lucky i loaded all my important photo's from my hollidays and stuff like that to bucket and my internet links to dropbox so not all was lost , but i needed to redownload an enourmous maount of music and still havent found everything back

Re: The Project Havoc....
Soooooo, I have a crazy idea running through my head, my trans is practically done, I have that viper 6 speed sitting there, hmmmmm think it would be cool in my truck, drop my bench down a couple of inchesm lower the truck another 2 inches and then I am also thinking about putting a TBI system on the truck, obviously one rated for the HP. sick of dealing with the carb issues. Think this would be fesible????? Would be a great driver then. OPINIONS????

Re: The Project Havoc....
There is adapters that are available to do it, run a twin disc clutch for a ls motor, aftermarket bell housing and a new clutch pedal assembly. About 1200 bucks would cover it. Plus I will have to make a new interesting shifter for it.

Re: The Project Havoc....
That would be pretty sick, but I think you might need to add to your engine to match the capabilities of your trans!

Re: The Project Havoc....
start plowing through this topic http://www.theturboforums.com/smf/th...art-2-to-come/ it will make youre eyes open to wat it actually takes
the man in question blew up his build motor and took a high milage 350 v8 out of a van got a used cam out of a trashcan cleaned it mounted it put on the same turbosetup from his fragged block on it and ran it like he stole it expecting it to blow up , it never did ..... he did done a good job tuning the injectionsystem though i collected all the info on the build from the whole story and compiled them in one post somewhere in the story , i suggest you get a sixpack of brew some food and sit down and start reading for a couple days

Re: The Project Havoc....
Lowering compression is easy enough to do if you are worried about it. Thicker head gaskets, a little porting, etc. But people have been turbo-ing stock motors with a higher than ideal compression for years. Just depends how much boost you are running and then timing. Cam timing can also be adjusted to help with that.
EFI is the way to go man. Carbs are great for daily drivers, but let them sit too much and its a PITA. I get by with a cheap old used set up, but would have prefered one of the new FAST systems. Just didn't have the $1700-2000 it takes to get one at the time. And I just have an old 283 in my truck, so it works until I go with something newer bigger and badder. But now you are talking about a lot of work on Havoc again. Going to put off the next project a while so you can spend the winter doing this? Either way is fine by me, I just like to see your work.

Re: The Project Havoc....
om planning on running impco gascarbs and propane myself , theres a boostrefference build intoo those setups you only need to put in a small extra line from carbbase to vaporizer , you can use a normal size pressure line but its wize to hook up 2 impco E vaporizers to keep the ar ratio good at the highest boost , thinking about running little over one bar thats about 14.5 psi
the engine is a 1977 454 in a C25 pickup thinking about twin holset hx50's or garrett 4088's for turbo's both are available here at truck wreckingyards DAF and cummins ran them a lot im trying to use as mush of the shelve stuff as i can , using a stainless version long tube headers the small piece of pipe on that with the propper flange for headers on one end and the turbo's on the other and wastegates in the bend of the piping (the turbos will be sitting in place of the gastanks under the benchseathump of the cab ) will be the only real welding job then go on with a resonable normal exaust from the turbo and out the back the only thing i need extra for this is some longer oilline and chargepipe (thinking on running two to the front under the sills and up the inner and outer fender to a pressurebox over the carb) and a scavengepump to get the used oil from the turbo's back to the top of the motor

Re: The Project Havoc....
So I priced out the parts for the trans conversion, this is minus the clutch pedal assembly. A little pricey, but.... still need to redo my driveshaft now, darnit.

He builds injection systems and plays alot with turbos. Sooo, you guys have me seriously thinking. Cory is trying to tell me either the fast or holley system, but man I would love to do a sheetmetal intake still. Probaly a different set of pistons in her, plus a few other things, I jsut see dollar signs now!!!!!! ouchy.

Re: The Project Havoc....
Also thinking of something like this for all 4 corners, I want to get rid of the shocks and springs. this is more what I want. http://www.speedwaymotors.com/AFCO-P...oke,44744.html
Man I wish i was made of money, but I am not, all dreams. maybe one day. Until then this will just be my new dream thread for Havoc. So for now thewish list is up to: Fuel injection coilovers new fromt lighter crossmember with a rack in it 6 speed maybe a turbo then of course a full finish. Does anyone know someone that can do a rendering. I would really love one done of the final product of havoc. Let me know. thanks
