Re: LS1 into a 73 cheyenne

I agree on the seats, option #1 looks a little cleaner, classier...your truck's gonna look amazing when it's all done, that's for sure!

Re: LS1 into a 73 cheyenne

I sprayed the feather fill with a new gun that i did not like, it was too slow it didnt deliver enough material, so now i have to get a new poly primer gun.

Re: LS1 into a 73 cheyenne

I am pushing this as hard as i can i have devoted every single hr. i can to this project but such projects just take time , I really want to get color on this by mid summer so i could at least take it to some of the shows even as a under construction to start exposing and sharing my Z-10 with the people.

Re: LS1 into a 73 cheyenne

Next on the to do list. I will drop in the engine fully dressed to confirm that the motor mounts fit and to check for clearance. After it is bolted up i will install the steering column and measure and order the shafts and joints to connect the rack to the column. After this is connected and all the pieces work, i will break off all the front end suspension pieces and paint the necessary parts and do final assembly.

Re: LS1 into a 73 cheyenne

i got my gun in first impression is that it is really light and it fits my hand like a glove, the knobs feel solid and accurate and only need like a 1/4 from a spot to full fan. i havnt weigh it but it feels the same weight as the mini. Pics of side by side comparison.

Re: LS1 into a 73 cheyenne

I managed to seat the engine, luckily it went without any problems other than the typical wrestling. Everything seems to fit according to plans so far so good now i need to order the shafts and joints and a rod end bearing. I will be using fords 3/4'' 36 splined u joints.

Re: LS1 into a 73 cheyenne

Looks good. Since you are one to pay very close attention to details that engine needs some love. Tare it down and send it to caps powder coating in Fresno and have them coat then engine in the cermakrome they offer, looks good man seen a few engines done this way will look like an endurashine intake, dont ask me what it costs cant even imagine but it would look good ahhaha

Re: LS1 into a 73 cheyenne

I agree it has been sitting wrapped in a tarp for sometime now. Before i install it i will do a thorough break down and clean all the components like the heads and valves, new trans seal gasket etc. and repaint the intake manifold and valve covers, as they got a bit scratched. As for the engine im not sure what direction i will go with it i want to paint it grey like aluma grey or blue but if i decide to paint it i really dont want to invest alll the hrs into it prepin it masking it, i might just give it a good pressure wash and leave it as is.
