Re: My Dusty 71 GMCe Electruck
I won't lie to you that thing showed up a few weeks ago and since then I've been playing the NPT, MPT, FPT, 1/4" 3/8", 1/2" and 3/4" round peg square hole game before settling on 3/8th hose from compressor to air gun (for now) I also got some 1/2" hose cause Mike Finegen recommended it, ha ha

There’s a lot of videos on the YouTubes about making those cabinets a lot better.

Re: My Dusty 71 GMCe Electruck
yup, thanks I saw one on something called a cyclone where you make one out of a Home Depot bucket and it sits between the media cabinet and a shop vac, so I may try that, but first I will pop the glass out and see how scratched and beat up it is as it's difficult to tell with it installed

Re: My Dusty 71 GMCe Electruck
and now a little distraction...
so I went to Big Al's house to pick up some random truck parts, I really didn't need nothin' but he's moving and cleaning house (or should I say side yard, ha ha) whilst there looking around I go hey Al, you got any transmission crossmembers by any chance? Big Al [a bit annoyed]: "do you see any, what do you think they grow in the ground!" |

Re: My Dusty 71 GMCe Electruck
I figured once I wire wheel all my suspension components, what the he11 am I gonna do with myself, so, I took on this little side project
here it is with the first pass of the wire wheel and... [wait for it] Top Tip: light coat of Phosphoric Acid called Prep & Etch from Home Depot, but please do not use this cheap and highly effective product [and the hidden key ingredient in all them highly marketed rust removers with them fancy labels and commercials], unless you want results Last edited by Gregski; 04-09-2022 at 05:15 PM. |

Re: My Dusty 71 GMCe Electruck
I changed my gun on my HF blast cabinet to a more efficient and more volume gun. I also switched to a steel tip in replacement of the ceramic tip and it is much more effective and lasts much longer.
What is the secret ingredient in addition to the prep and etch?

Re: My Dusty 71 GMCe Electruck
From my experience the tempered glass lasts a good long time. I bought 3 of them several years back and I am on #2 so far. you have to be aware of the bounce in the cabinet and try not to aim the gun so when you are blasting the edge it is not firing right at the glass, or bouncing off the material right at he glass. You can gain some more life by switching hands too. If you are right handed the left side of the glass will be pitted the most and difficult to see through. Switch to left handed and view through the clearer side.
