Re: Crash's 72 K10

Filled and bleed the brakes today. Decide to go with DOT5, not sure if it is the right thing, but it is what I decided.
Also installed the vacuum booster hose. I got one at the GM parts place.. it is designed for a LS..

Part number 15097187

After that I installed the antenna coax. Had to drill the hole for he coax.

Tomorrow I will be working on the remote door locks, gas pedal, front side marker wiring, etc..

Re: Crash's 72 K10

Installed the remote door openers.. They worked out well. I little bit of a learning curve on calibrating the system.

Installed some of the door hardware.. I decided to use buttonhead hardware instead of the original phillps screw style.

Installed the gas pedal.. A lot of trial and error to get it like I wanted.

Few things can top the joy of working on the inside of doors. You're really making headway now!

I hear ya. It really gives you an appreciation for what goes into getting one of these done. Yours is really going to be worth all the aggravation.

I know.. After Kyle finishes up jobs for you and Bryan he is going to try and give me a hand on lining up the front sheet metal on mine.. once I get that done I will be on the downhill side of this..

Re: Crash's 72 K10

Phew just got done reading through this also. Nice build, I'm usually over at the 2wd 67-72 section but something has been drawing me to the 4wd side. Recently just got done on my 69 ls build just want to say your going to love this motor power output is great and no matter how long you let the truck sit as long as the battery isn't dead it will start and run just like when you left it. The magic of efi I'll never go back to carbs. Think my next build will be a 4wd. Thanks for the inspiration. Again nice work I'm following this to the end.

Re: Crash's 72 K10

I like the brake light idea. I assume you used some LEDs?
I'm gonna need more info on that for sure. Just another subtle touch that really pushes your build over the top. Keep up all that hard work. Downhill you are headed

Re: Crash's 72 K10

Installed the front side marker lights and wiring..

Still having a little trouble getting the cargo light to seal up right.. Anybody have any ideas?

Rebuilt the window regulators…

Installed the windshield sprayers ..

Debating on installing the steps bars now, or waiting. I think I might go ahead and install the brackets and leave the bars off until after Kyle does the final pass on the paint.

Re: Crash's 72 K10

Decide to work on a method to hide the fatmat on the back of the cab.

Looks really good.. I still have a small spot I will need to hide.. thinking a strip of black duct tape or maybe a small piece of carpet..

I also went ahead and mounted the step bars with the help of my wonderful wife

Merry Christmas to all…..

I say small piece of carpet. Is a bench seat going to be in there?

Why weren't you at the mall today?
